Does anyone have a solution for the problem of dash reflection onto the windshield? When the sun comes back out here in Seattle (next summer), I would like to find a way to avoid this very irritating problem.
I agree...don't get too high of a shine on your dash, wear sunglasses and I wouldn't think there would be a problem. I live in Tucson and we have lots of extremely bright sunshine...over 300 days a year. The only reflection 'problem' I ever had was caused by the HUD built-into the dash and that was minor and didn't last long.
I guess you could always find some sort of a dash carpet to absorb sunlight. I wouldn't suggest doing it but it's possible.
I agree with the polarized lenses and less shiny dash trim dressing. I like Meguiar's interior foam dressing.
There are also carpet mats that are intended as UV protection which would block glare as well. But, you'll still have glare from the HUD. I would choose option 1 or 2. Carpet belongs on the FLOOR.
I find as long as you dont use armorall or anything like that it's not to bad. I only use saddle soap on mine, leaves a clean non-glossy look.
I agree. I use Windex to clean the dust and dirt off the dash Leaves it nice and clean.
Many ppl freek out about windex, but it does a great job.
GLossy dash boards are from things that probably should not be used.
I also use windex inside and out side of the windows. Works great and fast, no streeks with clean cloth or paper towel. Was not too found of Stoners, found it took too much work and had too many streeks.
dont use rain-x it streeks too much and you need alchol and lots of elbow grease to remove the rain -x

Is the nav screen polarized? If so, if the screen and sunglasses are in conflict the nav screen will be black. Anyone know?
Hi,
My first post to the forum and I hope I can answer your question. I've worn Corning polarized sunglasses for over 10 years and the Nav screen and HUD are both unaffected by wearing polarized lenses.
really help, not only in seeing fewer/less severe reflections from the dash, but the frame around the HUD seems to disappear when I wear mine. Without the polarized sunglasses I see the HUD frame and it distracts from the view of the HUD. The lenses do cut down on the brightness/intensity a little, but not enough to bother me.

If they make those dash protectors you can use that. That solved a reflection problem I had on another car.

This product was recommended to me to clean the C-6 dashboard, and door panels because thus far I have used Klasse, 303 and they leave behind residue marks. There is no way that these parts can shine like on most cars. The interior material or vinyl is skin like a membrane so it doesn't reflect but leaves white marks behind.
Aside from not putting anything on the dash to make it shine, wearing polarized sun glasses in the ONLY way to go. They really knock the glare out. Make sure they are Polarized glasses as they seem to be harder to find these days. Every thing is marked UV protection etc. but they are not the same as Polarized. If all else fails, look for these sunglasses online or anywhere they sell fishing gear. Most fishermen rely on Polarized glasses to take the glare off the water.

I'm a new member to the forum and the dashboard reflection problem question is my first posting. I'm impressed with the thoughtful responses. Think I'll go with the polarized sunglass solution. Thanks everyone.
