The Firestones are good for 50 miles at 50MPH. Does anyone know what the Goodyear OEMs are rated for?
From the Owners Manual:
If you drive on a deflated
EMT for 25 miles (80 km) or less and at speeds
of 55 mph (90 km/h) or less, there is a good chance that
the tire can be repaired. The tire can operate effectively
with no air pressure for up to 100 miles (320 km) at
speeds up to 55 mph (90 km/h), but the tire would then
have to be replaced.
I have been a GM dealer tech for the last 11 years and the last tire I would ever put on my Corvette would be a Firestone! I have seen nothing but irregular wear, noise, and balance problems from "factory" Firestone tires. This was seen thru different brands and many different models, just a heads up.
tire rack has the rears for $270 and the fronts will be $190 when they're available next month.....
..........you get what you pay for....................initally, I would guess that these Firestone tires would be priced below any other brand, and then as demand rises, they'll price them accordingly.......
....................kinda' like your first hit of speed, crack, (or any other drug)....... it's free, but you gotta' pay for the rest.........once your hooked,.....you're hooked.............
Great news. Ran the Firehawks on a '94 and 2k. Very much of an improvement on both over OEMs. Almost makes me want to go out and smoke the GYs so I can justify new Firestones

Hasn't happened yet with the C4/C5 sized tires. Guess it must take 10 years or more before your theory kicks in. By then I'll have a C7 and will be hostage by GM/GY all over again. It funny how some folks think ONLY GY can make a tire.

I had the Firehawk runflats on my 98 C5 for 4 years of spirited driving, and never experienced any of the issues listed above. Just a heads up!

I never knew that. Is Bridgestone a Japanese company?
Do you know where the factories are?
