I agree with you 100% on all your comments. I loved the FS RF's on my C5 and will looking to buy a set for the C6 real soon.
And now you know why I always bring my own bomb onto the plane when I travel. There has never been a case of 2 bombs on the same plane!
That's true if you don't consider the in-flight movie!
I certainly have no problems with Firestone or question the quality or safety of their tires based on a long-ago incident. I'm glad we have an alternative tire to consider.

Now I just might expect a little visit from Home Security...
Like GY or GM never had any issues and to this day I find Ford and the lame owner/operators equally culpable in those events. And you know, from a bad event like that, companies usually over compensate and offer far superior products to recover their good name and market share. I'd rather fly after an airliner crash because that's usually when everyone is focused.
I installed the FSWO's on my 03 Z06 back in Nov 2005 and they WERE far better tires than the GY F1 SC tires.
And even if you choose not to buy there products its good to have choices which will most likely lower prices. It's a "win win" situation for us Corvette owners, you should be thankful FS is bringing to market another tire breaking GY's Corvette run flat monopoly.
Don't tell me you really fell for that BS? You don't think driver error had anything to do with it? Palease!
Anyway, I just replaced the GY EMTs on our '98 with a set of the Fiirestone Firehawk runflats (highly recommended by the guys at Tire Rack) and I can tell you first hand the car rides much smoother and quieter (read less road noise). Dry and wet traction far better than the GY runflats.
That is great information to have...actual experience with the new tires. I would buy them for the less noise alone.
I just checked Trire Rack. It appears they just added the rear C6 sized FSWO Run Flat tires and they list for $270 vs GY's $398/$399. So right off the bat the rear tires alone will save you at least $256.00.
I'm guessing a complete set of four may save you close to $500.00.

Sure, the owners are ultimately responsible, but are they less responsible if they use another's product? (Playing devils advocate, here!)

True, the best time to be an astronaut is right after the previous one burns up.

Believe you me, I'd love to have other choices than GY too.

If you think it's "slim pickens" for the C6, just look at all the choices are us Z06 pilots...

1. Do these tires have tire pressure sensors?
2. Are these tires the equivalent replacement of standard C6 tires and/or the Z51 tires?
The tires don't have sensors, the sensors are part of the valve stem. I'd guess they are more of a direct replacement to the non Z51 SC tires. But I will say this, I'd gladly give up a bit of track performance for greatly enhanced cold/wet grip, tread lift and noise reduction all the while saving me about $500. I track my car for FUN 2 or 3 times a year totally about 350 miles on the track, I do drive my C6 everyday come rain or shine about 7 to 8K miles a year. I'd accept the trade off's, as I'm not RACING my car I'm attending HSDE and out having FUN. Nobody in their right mind would seriously RACE a stock C6 in a real competitive event w/o replacing the street tires with dedicated racing tires anyway.
I use the non run-flat version on my 03 Z06 and thought they were a better tire under ANY driving conditions.
Choice is good! Now it's time for Michelin to release the Pilot Sport A/S runflat like they did for the C5!
yeah..good tires....look like azz though....I had them....they look like crap...have MPS NRFT on my 99 and no issues....no TPS either......when its time for tires on my 07Z I will be thinking long and hard on whether or not I will keep RFTs on it.....

This is what I'm constantly hearing that non-runflats are better in very other way than runflats.
