but it is still a japanese company. Toyota has plants in the US too.....
Is it better to support U.S. workers in factories with foreign owners, or U.S. business owners with foreign factories?
My suspicion is that few really know the answer. There are just too many variables and ramifications for normal U.S. folks to know. Income generated here and abroad, tax loopholes and concessions made, benefits, security, health care and so many other intangibles.
So if it feels good to support your 'U.S.' company, then bless your heart!
But I would be very reluctant to buy a more expensive or inferior product just for the 'feel good' effect.

. . . . that employ THOUSANDS of US citizens. Ford, GM, Dodge, have shifted some US production to Mexico and Canada - and are closing US plants. For decades, the Big 3 have considered Canadian produced vehicles as domestic product. With the increasing global economy, it really is a blurry line.

Yup, I bought a PT Cruiser which is manufactured in Mexico by a company owned by Germans with some plants in the USA. How am I supposed to know what is PC???? Its a global economy.

personally I would rather support a foreign owned company with US workers rather than the other way around.....I beleive that puts more money into US pockets of people that really need it.....it does get quite complicated though in the thought process with US publicly held companies with foreign factories....
no kidding. talk about limited choices for the c6z tire size owners. I was hoping firestone had them in line, but the website says not available....no eta either
