Monterey Red paint - $725
A6 Transmission - $1250
Lojack - $995

Tinted Windows - $500
Steel mesh Grill and Vent covers - $900
Hurricane Air Intake - $1200
B & B Route 66 Exhaust System - $1500

Total - $7070

Was considering some more but now that I'm trying to trade/sell the car and move into a Z06 I've stopped.

Which brings me to the painful question: what do you expect to get back when you sell or trade a car with serious mods? or do you expect to drive it until the wheels fall off. I learned the hard way with a couple of Harley's that it's very hard to get anything back for mods when you sell - it's like dead money. I've got $50K in this '06 - 9 months and 3000 miles - and I was offerred $37000 on trade-in

Hmmm, mods to one's cars, if you can recount them all, you have not done enough! Look at my sig/profile-I need help, how many people have pulled an LS6 motor out of a Caddy 35,000 miles before the warranty is up. My C6 (motor, heads/cam, diff, clutch/flywheel, WP, radiator, CZ6 rear quarters, another set of rims/tires, etc... planned) will eclipse my CTS-V by year's end when comparing mod expenses. There should be a self-help psych book for car modders. Also, I purposely omitted a list with prices, as I like to think about what I can do next, not what I have spent-makes modding easier.
I guess what we are really saying is that we have a great car and are thankful we have the resources to make it better!

I've never bought a car with any thought about resale value nor was it a consideration when I modded my C6. I own a car for utility and/or enjoyment. My C6 is not just transportation...it's for pure enjoyment and for the thrill factor it provides. If I was concerned about resale value, I shudder to think what I'd be driving.

If you're at all concerned about resale value, you're probably much better off not even thinking about modifying it. Fortunately, with the stock C6, there's a lot to enjoy 'as-is.'
