drive down the road, what do you notice, silver blends in with the road, the color black just pops! I have one black car and i just ordered a black vette, not a daily driver, cleaning- a labor of love. silver is an easy color. I had a car that was silver before, hides dirt more. My color is black, you like car washes, me i rarely run my daily drivers through a car wash, Let alone a vette, to each there own, its your money, buy what's good for you...
As others have said, if you don't want to spend the time to wash and dry or if you plan on your vette being a daily driver then buy the silver. I was faced with a similar decision as you and I went with black. It's really not that hard to keep looking nice and Zaino will help with that process.
Should you get silver I would order red interior and paint your calipers to bring some "color" to the picture. Chrome or comp gray wheels are a must for either color.
Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with either
I've owned a black car and here in Texas it was friggin HOT. The main reason I don't buy black any more was it was too difficult to keep looking nice as a daily driver. The MS can get fairly dirty and doesn't show swirls near as bad as black.
That being said, I nicely kept black Vette does look awesome. I just keep up with all the work required.
here's my take on the subject...if it's gonna be a garage queen and you have of time on your hands to keep it looking it's best, get black. black looks best when it clean. if it's gonna be a driver and a quick trip to the car wash down the street to rinse it off sounds like the ticket, get the silver. silver looks best the day after you wash it and the rest of the week no matter the weather.
it's a corvette so it's gonna get noticed no matter what color you get.
you're really choosing between extremes. I have black and spend a lot of time keeping it looking spotless. I also have silver in my wife's Infiniti and takes little effort to keep looking good but it will never pop like black. Sounds like silver is for you as you use car washes and don't want to spend a lot of time on waxing/buffing.
you could always get something in between like yellow or blue
Im going to be purchasing a 3lt z51 mn6 in the next few weeks and I had a few questions for yall. I am torn between black we all know it is the most sold color and looks fantastic when clean.
Red is the most sold color for Corvettes when you combine the various hues of red offered each model year to just "red".
My C6 gets dirty/dusty just driving off the mountain where I live, so silver works out real well.
I think silver looks best at night, and thats when I like to drive most.
This photo was taken on a cloudy, rainy day.
My Father has a 95 Taho, black. It looked excellent when it was new, but over the years the black shows its wear. Light colors age more gracefully, so if you plan on keeping it for a long time (as we do with this Corvette), then I suggest silver.
Black is a lot to keep up if you are picky about micro marring, swirls, etc....all depends on how **** you are with how the car looks and how much time you're willing to commit to keeping it looking top notch. Silver is more forgiving
