I traded this Black C5 in 9 weeks ago on my new MS. I had two other black vettes many years ago. I told myself never again! Well, when I saw this black car I bought it! I had it 6 months. I think I drove it for 1 month and worked on keeping it clean and swirl free for the other 5 months!!! I have learned my lesson, again! I like black better when it is clean, but it is a full time job. My MS can be driven and driven and driven and it still looks clean. This color hides everything. I love the MS!
I wanted black but I am alittle to **** for another one. Had 2 black cars about 5 years ago and for me it takes hours to get the car ready for a 10 min ride then back to cleaning...LOL
This is my first silver car and really impressed with how well it stays clean but then again I do clean it 2-3 times a week.. The lines do pop IMO.
You are not in the habit of taking care of a car, detailing -hand washing, polishing, etc.
I love my MS, just wish I had the two tone interior!
Last thing, any color Vette is better than no Vette!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy
Mine is Machine Silver and love that I don't have to stay on top of wiping it down every day or washing it all the time, sometimes I just too busy. I love washing and cleaning my 'vette, taking it out when it's anything less than sparkling really bugs me. With silver I don't have to worry about it looking dirty..

here's my take on the subject...if it's gonna be a garage queen and you have of time on your hands to keep it looking it's best, get black. black looks best when it clean. if it's gonna be a driver and a quick trip to the car wash down the street to rinse it off sounds like the ticket, get the silver. silver looks best the day after you wash it and the rest of the week no matter the weather.
it's a corvette so it's gonna get noticed no matter what color you get.
Black has that sinister mean look..
Silver is easier to maintain.. still looks sharp too.. either way you can't go wrong..
As the owner of three silver cars I can tell you from experience it is a great color to keep looking nice. Have owned one black vehicle in my life and that will be the last...yes a beautiful color when clean but it doesnt stay that way long.
went to eureka springs corvette show and thousands of vettes. me and wife only saw 3 other machine silvers. there were lots of reds, blacks and tons of yellows a few blues and dsoms. i know theres more out there but they were only few at show.
I know a woman who actually named her silver C5 "Prudence" - you won't find any black Vettes named "Prudence". Very sorry if that ruins it for you silver guys - it did for me!
