A gazillion threads on this. I like the NPP with a switch. Typically just leave the valves open for agressive sound - but nice to be able to turn it off when I want. Suggest you go to a dealer for a test drive and ask them to pull the fuse on the exhaust before you drive it.

BTW, I installed a switch on the dead pedal of my MN6 so I can switch it on/off with my left foot.

seems to be what everyone is saying..."I wouldn't own a 08 without it"...I'd bet NPP cars are going to bring a significant premium over non NPP cars in the years to come.

If you like LOUD, the open NPP really isn't (the tone is good and deep, so that shouldn't be an issue). So, if you like loud, the ONLY reason to get the NPP is that you gain the ability to turn it on/off at will. Sometimes loud isn't good, and you want to shut it off -- with NPP you can. On the other hand, if you think the open NPP isn't loud enough and don't care about offending others (including the boys in blue), aftermarket is your only choice.

So, the only useful advice anyone can give you in this thread is: go listen to the system and decide whether the NPP "loud" is loud enough.

FWIW, I went NPP and it's perfect -- for what *I* want. No way of telling from here whether it will suitable for you.

Have fun doing your research!

its a blast when in 3rd and just under the valves opening, you can play with the gas. Give it a little more they open, let off a little they close. Its like playing you car like a instrument.

I know, sound is very subjective, and everyone has their likes and dislikes. So, just to put this into perspective, I have Borla Stingers on my C5 and love them. I love the deep muscular sound. There's a tiny bit of drone, but that doesn't bother me at all. GHL's would be my second choice. I don't like the sound of Corsa's (not meaning to offend anyone), but they are too hollow and "exotic" sounding for me.

If I go ahead and get a C6, I'm keeping it relatively stock (with exception of simple CAI/exhaust mods) for the warranty period. Besides, I'll still have the C5 to wad out to wazoo (Can you say ECS Novi )

Just looking for some to comment on why they got it (or didn't) and why. Also, anyone get it and swap it out. Any resale value on the NPP's, since most cars I like seem to already have that option.

Thanks.
GET IT. And then add the Mild2Wild switch. It's probably the most fun ... well maybe not ... but it is a fun feature.

I agree, put the money towards your choice of cat-backs.

Default NPP is worth it!

I just purchased a 2008 and it is worth it. I actually did not have any intention of getting the option but I located exactly what I wanted and it had the NPP.. I am moving from an 02 with a Borla which I loved. The NPP is not as loud overall but good enough that I will not change it out.

Several said they had removed the fuse on the NPP. I assume this will not void any part of the warranty?? I have not checked my owners manual but I assume it would be easily recognizable?? Any thoughts on that.. Thanks

I ordered NPP on my 08 coupe. Glad I did. Like the look of the LARGER tailpipes and the deep throaty healthy roar at startup...WOW!!! Thinking about having my Chevy dealer pull the fuse on the NPP to keep the valves full open all the time. This is one option that should be standard equippment on every 08 Corvette!

i just got my car and i LOVE the NPP. you can pull the fuse and leave it open and listen to it gurgle, it's rather pleasant

to pull he NPP fuse, just pull back your passenger side floor mat and pull the fuse compartment door down. on the door is a schematic for all the fuses, look for the red 10A fuse on the bottom center near the relay. it says EXT. use the little white fuse puller provided just above the fuse in the same box to pull it, takes 1 minute from start to finish.

I got NPP with my new 08 and put Ed's (pipedreams) Mild2Wild in that day.. Awesome sounds whenever I want. Was worth it to me. As others have suggested you might want to hear them first...

I think it is. It was most noticable for me during the drive from VA Beach to San Diego. It was so nice and quiet. Sometimes I want to hear the rumble, sometimes I don't.

I'll find out soon too. My neighbor just brought home his new 08 and when he left my house and opened it up it sounded incredible. Needless to say I was not happy that I spent > $1k for my Magnaflow catback system for my 05. Adding LG Pro headers and high flow cats helped a ton but my Z06 NPP mufflers just showed up and I cannot wait to hear them with the headers!

Anyone add headers to the NPP system? How much difference does that make?

I like the option for a simple reason - the wife. When she's with me I can run quiet and she's happy. When she's not, I can run loud and I'm happy. The best of both worlds.

Great way to look at it, and so very true. Every time my wife gets in the car, I also have to deal with the whole; "You're not going to take the top off are you? It's going to mess my hair up."

yeah, you cant tell whether you will really like it like the dealer, because the middle pipes are only open when you start the car and when you hit 3600 or 3700 RPM. Now, when I put the mild2wild remote on (it allows you to determine whether you want all the exhaust on or off, it is fantastic!

I have a c4 with a billy boat exhaust and I love the sound of that. But the NPP makes my heart race when I start it and accelerate. I have a automatic, and its still wonderful.

If you are like the rest of us, you will probably not be happy with the growl of the stock exhaust in the long run.

I haven't compared many of the aftermarket exhaust systems, but I can't see how they could be any better. And one of the benefits with the NPP and the mild2wild, I can control whether it is on or not.

I am really glad I got it.

Now, if the wife complains about my driving, I can adjust the exhaust to where I can't hear her

Good Luck.
