Just finished having full insulation sheets installation for the whole interior and doors. Finally, no rattles for the interior except for the roof! I shall have the roof done at the dealer next week under warranty

08 3LT coupe.
3270 miles and no rattles except for the standard roof pops. Easily fixed in under 1 hour and $0.35 e clips.
I cannot believe how I can run this car over bumps that would have destroyed my C3 without any rattles or squeaks.
I'm about to upgrade my door speakers. I hope I don't create any rattle issues.
Love my C6.

Having lived through the rattle-trap C4s, and a C5 that had a fair number of them (although I eventually worked through them all), I am happy to report that the only rattle I have had in my C6 ('07 coupe, 15K miles) is the hand-brake handle button. And removing the button and reinstalling it seems to have solved that.

My 08 has one in the driver door that is not a rattle as much as a buzz. Sounds like its coming from the panel above the speaker panel. Only occurs at certain RPMs and when stereo is moderately loud. Drives me batty.
That said, I'm almost afraid to bring it up to the dealer... as sometimes the "fix" is worse than the problem.

Brought it back the following week, they dissembled the door panel and called to tell me that someone had already opened the door panel and damaged some of the grommets - now not a warranty item. I bought the car as a GM Exec car used. I went and they showed me and yes someone had really hacked up the inside of the door - scratched the hell out of it from not getting the top clips right and broken several grommets and a missing screw on the woofer.
Turns out the car had a broken drivers door window replaced and whoever did it (remember this was a GM exec car) messed up so now I am paying for any and all issues inside there. They didn't have the grommets in stock - "be here tomorrow" tomorrow no grommets, "be here tomorrow" tomorrow no grommets again. I said put the car together and I am coming to get it, I'll replace the grommets myself when they come in. This was 2 weeks and they still do not have the damn grommets. Meanwhile the door has now started bad rattles but the speaker buzz is gone.
Oh well, I am putting in new speakers and amp so I'll fix the damn thing myself, assuming that they ever get the necessary grommets JFC - you know when you want something done right...

Just bought my new 08 convertible. 78 miles so far, but a nasty rattle coming from passenger door but only when the stereo is on. When I pull lightly on the door cubby near the speaker grill it goes away. So I assume it's a loose speaker part. Will have it checked soon and give update.

Hi.
My 08 3lt coupe with 3,270 miles is tighter than a drum. Coming from a C3, the C6 rides like a Caddy. I had a roof "issue" which I discussed in a previous post:
Just wanted to mention that after 2,000 miles on my 08 Coupe (built April 08), the infamous popping top reared its ugly head.
I noticed that I had the GM epoxy roller upgrade, but the epoxy had broken loose on the LHS. The roller was able to roll freely.
Rather than re-epoxy the roller, I did the now famous e-clip insertion magic trick. This made the roller virtually unmoveable. I decided to add the e-clip to the passenger side as well.
I than added some heat shrink tubing to the 2 front locating posts.
I used a silicone spray lube (sprayed on a rag first) on all the rubber seals.
Finally I used a syl-glyde silicone lube on the 2 front rollers, the base of the 2 front locating posts (on the O ring just below the heat shrink tubing), and on the 2 rear locating posts.
Popping - what popping?? Problem resolved.
Enjoy the ride. It's the best.

I have the same noises in my 08 vert. My seatbelt also rattles when the road gets a little rough, drives me crazy.

I have the exact same rattle or buzz coming from what sounds like the speaker assembly in the passenger door, but not the driver's door of my 08 vert. If I pull on the door it goes away and will not occur at all with certain varieties of music. Weird as hell. I'm having a hard time diagnosing it.

Sounds like it is at about a behind my head and somewhere around the speaker grill but haven't been able to find it.......yet..

Dash Hum at speed and Roof Squeak Cures
After reading extensively it appears that two common problems with noise are the center dash hums when getting up to speed and the roof creaks.
Solutions:
1. Dash hum seems to have two causes known.
A. Exterior plastic cowel at the base of the window on exterior vibrates with wind. Replacing seems to fix which must mean it was redesigned or the old one is compromised in some way. Cheap or easy solution is to secure down with black tape temporarily.
2. Roof squeak seems to be caused by the rollers that touch down at latch areas. Hillman 5/32" e (c) clips (Lowes rep will point out where to get) can be snapped into place on the axis of the roller to take out play. This seems to work well.
3. Any miscellaneous squeaks in the instrument cluster, steering column, dash can be cured with sparing amount of silicon spray in each nook and cranny to lubricate plastic parts rubbing against each other.
