I get daily weather updates pushed to my Blackberry, usually by 6am.

My Vette is a daily driver but the more informed I am the better.

Yup. Treat myself to a vette commute once or twice a week. Always make sure it won't get wet first.

Not crazy, I keep mine clean too, I hose it down under my car port if rain water hits it. I check the weather to see if I can take her out during the day. I dont do shopping with it. I drive the car to cruise.

Yea, I do it too, but I don't care if the car gets rained on if the forecast was wrong.

Mine is a DD.....so it doesn't matter....and I know this will strike fear and pain in many hearts...mine even sits outside.... This statement could be cause to have my forum membership revoked...

But, it is a great car and I enjoy driving it every day (that I'm not driving my Harley)

You definitely are not crazy. I do it all the time. All the hard work we put into detailing these little beauties, it's a shame to have it ruined in a matter of seconds.

I check the weather as well. I have my choice of vehicles to drive. Rather not have to wash the Vette nor have to drive it with the top up.

I don't check the weather on my pre-flight check list but I live in Arizona. I pretty much know what the weather's going to be like.

Aren't all Vette's sapposed to be clean when driven?
I always check the weather anyways!

I try to keep it clean all the time,
If I drove it as a daily driver I would never get my work done. Need a utilty truck when working.

Not a garage queen, but also not daily driver!

I just want it clean when I do drive it!

Between my Z and golf, the Weather Channel is always on. Check it everyday.

Question for the "drive my car whatever the weather" folks:

Is it REALLY fun to drive in a downpour? You getting a lot out of the car in those conditions, puttering around, no traction, low visability?

I'll drive my truck on those days. Save my Z for nice weather, where it's hammer down!

You described me exactly.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to keep your car clean.

I'm fortunate enough to have multiple cars.
When it's supposed to rain or snow, I leave the Vette in the garage.
Otherwise, I drive it as much as possible.

I watch the weather as part of the "Pre-Drive" routine.

If it looks great, I wash or detail,

If it looks iffy, I'll wash another day.

If it looks iffy and the wife is riding with me, I wash and detail the beast!

I do the same and clean the bug off the front after every use. That is a must as the bugs will eat right into the paint if left on.
