Who Want's More Power On Top Of More Power
Alot of Z06 talk here, so, let me ask a question.
Of those of us that may choose to trade up to or purchase a Z, how many intend to (performance, engine) mod it. Or, do you feel that leaving it stock, is sufficient enough? Again, not really talking cosmetics.
Just getting an idea of how many would still want more power (track or not).

If I was to trade my C6 in for a Z06, I would mod it similarly to what I did with the LS2 (headers, porting, tuned, etc.) without getting into the motor itself. More power is always nice...

Although I made the difficult decision not to trade-in my C6 when the Z06 first came out, had I bought the Z06 I have no doubt I would have modified that as well. In stock trim the Z06 is the **** but once you start modifying a car all bets are off. You can go to about any performance level you want. You don't need a Z06 to have Z06 (or better than Z06) performance.
Much depends on how you will be using the car. More power is all well and good but there's more to increased performance than just more power.

For me horsepower is and always has been a degenerative disease so I think I will always mod whatever I have. Only difference is these days I'm smart enough to wait until the warranty runs out to do heavy modifications.

My 04 Z06 was the first performance car I ever owned that I didn't want/need to modify. It had the power and handling right from the factory to keep me satisfied.
My 08 also provides enough performance and comfort to where I don't want to change a thing... except for ditching the runflats when it's time...

I gotta be honest with you guys here.... aside from an exhaust and MAAAYBE some headers, I NEVER would have done anything at all to my car, had it not been for this forum. Because of this forum, within the 1st year I had headers, exhaust, intake, and a nitrous system. Got more ideas so then I went and put a cam in it, followed by heads, followed by a FAST manifold. I've been infected by the mod bug and I cant control it. I keep thinking to myself, "I really dont need this extra power. The car is brutally fast as it is now"...and yet I cant help but continue. Maggie is going on as we speak. In the coming months, an upgraded differential and better clutch with lighter flywheel. Then brakes and a few suspension bits. And this is just power mods...cosmetics is a whole 'nother story.
I feel I've fallen victim to something I can not get out of, and I have ALL OF YOU to blame for it. So thanks, I've enjoyed every minute of it

i'm not planning to get too nuts with this one. Intake, exhaust, tune...some exterior mods. Maybe a couple suspension pieces...brakes...
no motor work or forced induction...

400 hp is more than enough. It is similar to the "living wage" statements in politics; there is not answer to the question. Someone will always want more.
I am quite satisfied with what I have.

I think the power to weight ratio for a standard C6 is pretty ridiculous for a car that I don't take to the track or race. I like seeing auto makers push the engineering envelope, but that doesn't mean I feel like I am missing out on anything. I have no desire to upgrade to a more powerful car. It isn't worth the money to me at all. I'd rather keep my stock C6 coupe for a long time, & invest the extra money I am saving these days.

I've modded every car I've owned, not to the degree that a lot of folks here do, and I've added a couple things to the C6. However, this is the first car I can honestly say for the street, it comes from the factory with more than you should ever need.
