I usually fill up at 1/4 tank but lately, I try to do 1/2. Once and a while 3/4. Makes me think that I'm getting off cheap.

I heard back a while, on one of the talk radio shows, that it isn't good for the tank to go below 1/4 (will hurt the engine). I believe it was on the Clark Howard show. Does anyone know if there's any truth to this? He even had an engineer on discussing it.

My car seems to produce less power when nudging the throttle below 1/16 tank so i try to keep it >1/4

When I need to, I generally don't think about it other than to try and not let the gage get too low.

I wait until it says "LOW FUEL", then I drive another 20 miles and THEN I start looking for a station.
I've gone over 30 after the low fuel warning and never had to put much more than 16gallons in the tank. The gauge is pretty conservative considering the tank holds 18. Of course, you can't siphon it down to zero, but still...

I fill up once a week which works out to be around a 1/2 tank or less to fill back up.

I've been trying out a new credit card issued by Geico, my auto insurance company, that applies "Geico Dollars" to my premium for automotive related charges, similar to other cards that offer cash back. I get 5% of up to $150 per month, and 1% of all other charges.

Normally I don't put that many miles on the Vette, but I find I'm driving and putting more gas in it since I got this card

Usually at about half a tank. Last time I decided to go a little early before prices got any higher. Put in around 1/3 of a tank for around $28. That should get me through most of the summer before I need to fill up again.

I usually fill up whenever the gauge reaches between 1/4 and 1/8.

Been driving 22 years and haven't run out of gas once. (fingers crossed)

I don't go below 1/2 a tank. It's purely psychological.

Gas price here is now 3.85 (reg). Even though I only use premium, I don't look at it's price.
