The news folks wanting to make it seem worse?! Never! Say it's not so! ha!
If they cannot even get the car right, but make up a model that sounds tough, makes you wonder if the car was really brand new or if they really know he was going 150.
Regardless, what a jerk, drinking and driving and running into someone like that.

It's like most of the rest of the news....irresponsible reporting with no facts or inaccurate facts. That is no ZR-1 and I'm sure that there are plenty of other mistakes in this report.

Police officers on the scene told a camera crew that the Corvette was a brand-new ZR1; car afficionados have e-mailed the Register to say that it looks like a standard Corvette C6.

I'd be willing to bet he was doing 100 mph and the witnesses that he flew by all stated, "he had to be doing 150 mph."
People don't "weave in and out of traffic" at 150. They couldn't even get the cars correct, so I doubt they got the speed right either.

I just talked to USAA today and asked why my insurance rates are going up lately. They said it was because Utah was rated lower (which affects all companies). Eventually we have to pay for idiots like this. Too bad we don't have extremely tough DUI laws.
100 or 150, it really doesn't matter. It sounds like he was being wreckless around traffic also.
And a Corvette crash will ALWAYS make the news by name. Not as exciting as saying a Camry or Accord crashing.

Not quite! ZR1s don't have 18s on the front. It really doesn't matter if it was a ZR1 or not since this owner probably could get into trouble with an Insight or Prius and not make the news.

Sure, there are errors, but the BIGGEST ERROR was not the news reporting, BUT the STUPID driver, he is the REAL PROBLEM. That driver is the one who is making us ALL look bad, his bad. The ONLY GOOD THING IS THAT THE DRIVER DID NOT DIE, but he sure was stupid in his behavior and actions. I'm not pro media, but the media did not cause this accident, the driver did! Period!
