Neither. That's to much money for that year. You can go to 06 or newer for that money where they made improvements on the rear end (stronger),new steering wheel, and NO DBS.You don't say if they are mn6's,but if they are, look up DBS and learn.Keep shopping. It's a buyers market out there.A guy bought an 07 w/13,000 miles on it for 30 grand a couple of months back.

Sorry, left that out. They are MN6 and I've read up on the DBS. I normally park in reverse anyway. Isn't that all it takes to avoid the problem?

I agree, for 32K you can get an 07 with those options and fewer miles. God luck in your search

Oh no,not at all. You'd need to read a ton on it.GM has a TSB on a reflash for the computer that is supposed to have fixed it.I'm sure some people will chime in on here who have gone thru it.I had an 05 and kept it on a battery tender every night in order to avoid any issues. Now,the next thing is that's way to much for either of those cars. Go here and scroll thru the items. It'll take a little time but it's worth it.

The car should have had the TSB for the computer reflash done. Check the service records to see if it was really done. If it wasn't performed, you can have a drained battery even with the car parked in reverse.
Also, the first 11,039 2005 cars are at some risk for the crank pulley bolt loosening. Again, a TSB was out to add a diamond embedded washer to the bolt so it couldn't back out. If you're looking at an early production car, check to see if that TSB was done.
On coupes, the rmeovable roof panel should have been replaced under a recall. This only applies to the painted panels.
unless there's some fascination you have with these two cars, I agree with '08crm: too much. if that's what you're willing to pay, go look at '06 and '07s. really.
Either of those cars should be in the $27-28k range . . .both sound nice, but do your homework and pull a VIS report showing warranty work and recalls performed before you buy anything.
There's absolutely no reason to avoid 2005 models - - like any car, just do your homework. People that routinely dismiss them out of hand are rarely those that own them.
There are pretty regular posts that tout the `05 models as a great value in the C6 line. Each year, the car gets better and better with more power and better features- so as a general rule, buy as new as you can afford.
But as an early 05 owner- car delivered Sept 2004- mine's been virtually problem free as have many, many others. That said, those coupes with 25-30 k miles in very good condition should be priced well under $30 IMO.
Also, I wish I was finding the prices for the 07's you guys are seeing. I must be looking in the wrong places.
I agree with CQ re the quality of the '05, and you may be looking in the wrong places or taking asking price as sale price. I'd suggest you increase your radius of geography if prices are too high in your immediate area.

Such as where??? I'm looking for fun to see what I can find. There is nothing in the middle 20 range for a 05 Vette. If there is, it's a rolling pile of crap. What I am finding is in the upper 20K, then all the way to middle 40K. Sure, couple on Ebay but that's it. Ebay does not set the going price for used vehicles. Who in the heck in all reality is going to drive thousands of miles to save a few bucks? Come on, give the guy a break.
Guys, without a link to your statement you facts are pointless and null. Find him a Yellow 05 Vette as I am trying to do right now. It's fun but I can't find a thing in the mid 20K price. Also using his zip.
BTW, go with the second choice. Get what you want, usually works out well.

That's what I'm talking about. Can't find it anywhere. Sure, if you wait around long enough I suppose it might pop up, but not necessarily locally. My experience with the market right now is a car is here, you go off in a corner to think it through, and then it's sold when you come back. Looks like a sellers market to me. It's frustrating. They're selling fast here in the South East and I need to get a car as soon as I can.
I also find that Edmunds reports values that are slightly lower than what the cars are actually going for (or at least being listed for).

I also own a Early Production (08/04) 05 M6 1SB I bought almost 2 years ago and the car has had zero issues. I have even left it in the garage for 3 weeks at a time with no battery tender and fired right up.
So go for it but lower the price or get 06-07-08 for the price even if you have to hunt for while.
