I'm glad there is an app out there for this. I don't like to see people getting tickets but I believe in red light cameras. Two intersections near work (I have to go through both) are so bad with drivers running red lights that it is unsafe to immediately leave the intersection when your light turns green.

I've seen comments that red light cameras are "Big Brother" and shouldn't be allowed. I disagree. No one has the "right" to run a red light and if you do you deserve a ticket. If cameras and/or Andriod apps will stop the practice of running through lights I am all for them.

 

I saw the light too, at 6:00 A.M. on Sunday with nary a soul around. This was in Newport Beach (Calif) and I have had no front license on my Vettes since my first in '71 - never been warned or ticketed for it. The camera shot the front view, a close-up mug shot and a rear view. Counts as a moving violation and affects points too. I elected to endure an 8 hour driving class and had the ticket expunged.

Way back when I got that red light ticket, someone gave me a thin sheet of thermo plastic to place over my rear license plate beneath the frame holder but over the surface of the license plate. It's clear and you can see through it, but when a flashlight or FLASH hits it, it blurs and distorts the plate numbers. I don't know where this plastic came from but likely others know where to acquire it. I don't have it installed on my new 2011 Z.

Yup, thought I was going to see something in the mail myself. Stopped at a blinking red one morning and proceeded through... bam flash city. although the signal was out I thought I was gonna have to fight but nothing ever came, thankfully.

 

Some should be ticketed for bringing back a thread 6 months old.
