2011's
It is a public forum, people make comments and it can lead to debates. If someone doesn't like the thread, then don't post in it. That is the freedom of it.
Some people like white C6s, some don't. If you say that you don't like white colored C6's, you are labeled a hater. It is politically correct madness.

You have people here on the forum that would think that one is a sellout for owning a foreign car. That only owning an American car is correct. So you and I are both sellouts according to them because we own a non-American/GM cars.
Some people get ripped on for owning a manual trans car. That is the forum. If they don't like the topic, then nobody forces them to read it or post in it.
Every body wants a deal you want the best quality but do not want to pay for it. I traded my 07 coupe for my GS and I would not go back.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

OK, mine is a 2010 but I'll post a photo just to get the ball rolling.
PS. I would have ordered a Grand Sport IF they had offered the F55 suspension in 2010.

I am going to start recording my conversations to these dealers. Just for kicks, I called a local GM dealer and asked him if they have any 2011 base coupes for sale. The dealer on the phone stated, "You don't want a base coupe, those are out of style, what you want is a Grand Sport. "
I responded, oh really, why is that?
The dealer said, "The Grand Sport is basically a Z06 with a removable top. You get the best of both worlds"

Enough said.

I put up with your rants when your ONLY complaint was the GILLS, then it was the power, then the handling, then the wide body, then the suspension, then the wide tires, then the..............
To blame the poor sales of Corvettes on the Grand Sport is ..................................

2008 C6 production(all models)---35,310
2009 C6 production(all models)---16,956
2010 C6 production(all models)---12,194.
According to your logoc, the reason the production was 48% lower in 2009 vs 2008 was that the Grand Sport killed it, right?
Well, bright boy, there were no Grand Sport models in 2009, so it must have been something else that killed the C6's sales...maybe the economy.
But, with the economy being even worse in 2010 then 2009, the Grand Sport could not completely revive the C6's sales to those of yesteryear. I would hate to think of what the 2010 production would have been if GM had not released the Grand Sport. Maybe 6-7,00 cars. My opinion is that the Grand Sport hurt the Z06's sales and if the Grand Sport had not been released, then the Z06's sales would have been higher then the 518 produced, but not near enough to offset the Grand Sport's production figure.
My local dealer has 53 2011 Corvettes in inventory, that's nearly $4,000,000 worth of inventory. 41 are Grand Sports, 3 are Z06's and 9 are ZR1's. None of them are base C6's. He's also #5 in the world in Corvette sales. Do you really believe that with that much inventory on hand, and where he is positioned in Corvette sales, that he doesn't have a clue to what his customers want in a new Corvette? He's stocking what is selling, and the base C6 is not selling.

I believe it was Car & Driver that took a 2011 GS F55 out and it pulled another .02 - .03 more G's on the skidpad over the non F55.

Looking at the 2010 sales literature, or Chevrolet's web site, or listening to their sales people, or seeing whats sitting on the dealers lots gathering dust, you would never know the base vehicle or any other Corvette models were still being made or were for sale. GM put all their eggs in the Grand Sport basket, and it flopped big time. If it was the great success you G/S owners say it is, you wouldn't need any Base, Z06 or ZR1 sales because the Grand Sport alone would have set record sales of Corvetts. It didn't. Total sales of Corvetts, including the Base, Z06 and ZR1 whose existance were virtually hidden from the pubic, were the worst in 49 years, while other companies were increasing sales in the same period.

, plain and simple.
