My thoughts are kind of the opposite of the C6 not having the Wow factor.
Everywhere I go it gets the Wow factor.
I was getting new vehicles about every 4 years because there where big improvements in them.
Made me want the better things the vehicles had to offer.
With my 09, I don't see how even with nice improvements in the next Vette to come it's going to be so great that it takes away from the C6 as it is in it's latest form.
I agree some of the Electronics are outdated by todays standard, but to me, these are minor things when considering the C6 as a whole.
I don't see myself wanting much more than what I have in my 09 for a Looong time to come.
And if at some point I feel I want more from what I have, I'll upgrade what I have, and even then it's not likely.
I'm Extremely Happy with my 09 C6

We Z owners especially are fortunate. Let me see,C7 non-Z or C6Z decisions, decisions. I think I'll be keepin my Z.

Default Still there

After I sold the 05 vert and before I bought the 07 vert, I considered going for a midyear Vette. The more I looked and compared, the more I was impressed with the C6.
How much WOW factor does one need?
I have 400 HP. A fully loaded vert. It is one of the most impressive cars on the road even if it is a 7 year old model.
While it is priced too high for junior hamburger flipper, the sales are most dependent on those who WANT the car. And, quite honestly, this is not like the 60s when HP and cool meant everything. Half the younger population is more impressed with 1000 watt stereos than a Corvette.
And that is OK. To each his own.
Will I buy a C7? Probably not. At 62, I am pretty much settled in my ways. Not impressed enough to spend more money on a car I drive so little.
Will I get rid of my Vette? No way. I am impressed enough with the WOW factor to keep this one for a long, long time.

The History of the C6's WOW Factor.

2005, Introduction of the C6. Wow!
2006, Introduction of the MXO 6 speed automatic, and The Z06.
2007, Introduction of the 5 year, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty.
2008, Introduction of The LS3, TR 6060 transmission, upgraded steering, NPP dual Mode Exhaust, and CF finish center console.
2009, Introduction of the Competition Sport Package, GT1 CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION, and The ZR1.
2010 Introduction of The Grand Sport.
2011 Introduction of the Z06 Carbon Limited Edition, and it's options.
2012 Who Knows???

Note to ALL car buyers; Never buy a factory installed, in dash navigation system. Navigation systems are updated almost monthly, to have an outdated nav system, kind of permanently installed in you car, makes your car seem outdated, when it really isn't.

I am a new owner so I am still WOW'd by my 05. I am still WOW'd by a 1st and 2nd gen Camaro's and TA's when I see them, so I have many years of WOW left in the C6.

OP, are you stock? I added H/C/I/CAI, and exhaust. I dont ever think I will get tired of lighting up the tires at will I wont ever buy a C7, I just love this car too much. Maybe a stroker and SC are in the future but not another vehicle.

I never had much of a wow factor of the base c6 model. It always looked kind of plain and boring to me. The only thing I liked were the headlights and the rear fascia.

However with the z06 and the zr1, just enough flare was added to completley transform the car in my opinion and looks amazing.

I think the recent add of the Grand Sport to the lineup really increased the wow factor, and with what we are seeing on the c7 possible body, it increases it's wow factor even more I think.

Im new to the corvette family, and was never a fan of corvettes until the c6 z's came out with that mean looking appeal, but I dont care for manuals and a solid top. But then the GS fixed everything and was genius marketing by GM.

Everytime I drive my GS, I'm wow'd. If you dont feel this anymore, time for a new car I'd say.

I think the base C6 has tons of wow. Boring? Come on! Each of the other versions definitely add their wow componant.
My base C6 still gives me a rush when I walk up to it. I guess to each his own. With the top off, I am in another dimension.
The C3 was out for 14 years or so, the C6 is only half way!

Alright... I surrender and see the error of my ways! I'm now convinced by the Brotherhood" the WOW factor is still there! I'm heading out to my garage where my sleeping vette is and do some polishing...

I guess my biggest complaint is the dated electronics at least by my standards. It would not have cost GM a ton of money to update with some slick electronics that is in many lower priced cars. Cool electronics combined with a very good sound system is something I really enjoy!

The performance "WOW" I've already taken care of with an Edlebrock SC which provides around 600 hp... Frankly there is all the WOW I desire when stomping the go peddle now!

Next I'll have to tackle the electronics and install my own WOW factor. I agree it's still a GREAT looking car from an exterior standpoint. Just felt there were some inexpensive interior updates/mods that GM could have done the past 7 years. I believe a vette deserves a high end NAV/stereo that's combined with built Ipod and bluetooth interface. A good hands free phone setup is a must today. IMO it should arrive from the factory that way.....

Again this was never intended as a BASH the C6 thread but rather looking for some honest feedback from other owners......

Happy to see that most still like their cars and believe it has the WOW factor alive and well.......

Hmmm, I must be crazy because I still say WOW every time I walk in the garage. Hell, I walk in the garage just so I can hear myself say WOW.

Hey guys remember, GM was/is a bankrupt company. I really doubt Corvette sales are at the top of their list of things to fix.
