Not sure on the details, but this is what I have. I think this means you are ready to start going on the assembly line.
3400 Order Broadcast (Internal Plant Order Produced)
I hope so .. but I don't think they are spinning bolts quite yet... I have heard it takes 20 hours to build a car. If that us the case we would be dobe by Monday at the latest. I have been told I'm due to be completed the 31st.
We ordered one on 5/26/11, were in constraints for OB1, changed the order, got a TPW of 10/10/11, got to 3400, now been advised car to be coming off line tomorrow, got an appointment @ the museum on Monday 11/07/111. Am ready to pick up and head back to AR Good luck on yours, just hang in there
From: Simi Valley Ca. all the way to Shell Knob, Mo. A piece of heaven.

Talk about anticipation!
Congrats!
What did you order?
I am guessing that 4750-4800 should be coming off the line currently...
4999 will be the last car to trim today the 19th wednesday
5078 will be the last car to trim on 10/20 thursday
5157 will be the last car to trim on 10/24 monday
5236 will be the last car to trim on 10/25 tuesday
5315 will be the last car to trim on 10/26 wednesday
5394 will be the last car to trim on 10/27 thursday
5473 will be the last car to trim on 10/31 monday
it takes another day to be INVOICED so to finish a car add another WORK day (monday-thursday) to the date that your sequence number falls in.
to qualify for the rebate you will need to have the car invoiced before it is in dealer inventory, and that date needs to be on or before the 31st of the month.
unless the plant decides to build more than approx 79 cars per day between now and then this info should be accurate.
i obtained this from someone at the museum who was actually looking at a list of expected completed units each day for the next week out. today the first car to enter trim at the start of the work day was 4928. they expect to build 71 cars today because of a meeting they had.
so by my calculations unless they plan to ramp up the assembly line to 100 cars per day there is no way in hell most of us with a TPW of the 24th will get them built in time to take advantage of the $3,000 loyalty discount.
unless GM decides to extend the offer or offer somthing else of 3,000 for another week this is reality folks...
i should also add that after it hits trim, my understanding is that it takes 20 hours to build from start to finish, that said and knowing where trim is located in the assembly process i would estimate it would take about 18 hours to finish the build. with a 10 hour shift it would take a full day and most of the next to finish the car, i dont know if it would normally be invoiced the same day it comes off the line or if that takes another day after the car is tested ect..
beyond that, i think the only thing that will accomidate the loyalty discount is if by the grace of god your dealer agrees to eat the $3,000.

I don't have all the codes and stuff, but my car was entered into the system on 10/11 and today I got the production date of 11/21. So I guess there's a bit of backlog.

5 weeks is pretty quick considering all that goes into ordering parts and building the car.
Mine is Cyber Gray and had to wait. It was ordered on 10/3 and as of today it is at 3300 and has a TPW of 11/7. Don't know what my Seq # is yet but I'm hoping for a Thanksgiving or shortly thereafter delivery date.
It’s unfortunately the nature of the market these days, but these factory shutdowns really put a damper on the whole “Corvette Experience”.
I wanted to order my 2012 Centennial and do the buyer's tour, museum delivery, etc, you know, the “Corvette Experience” that GM’s created over the years. But I’ve seen the frustration in these types of threads in the recent past and I decided not to subject myself to the inevitable aggravation that comes with production uncertainty.
So, I scoured dealer stock and found exactly what I would have ordered, sans the “Experience” mind you, but I think I made the right decision.
I write this just in case anyone is in the same boat reading this thread and contemplating what to do. Sometimes you just have to take the path of least resistance.
i 'chatted' with Metick in Detroit last night and they found 2 cars 'like the one i ordered. one in Florida and one in Valencia, Ca. the one in Valencia 'almost' is like my build, but not quite. still missing things that make my build personal. so i'll wait another couple of weeks ... and see.
I'm a little confused on something, where do you get the sequence #, I've looked at everything I know but have'nt a clue about the sequence # mine has been @ 3400 for the past 2 weeks but is to come off the line today I was told. Any help appreciated.

I have been at status "3400" since 10/20/11... still hoping for a build and v,i,n, by October 31st rebate deadline. I was supposed to have a build date of 10/10 until the 2-week shutdown. Has anyone else recently been in this situation? How long was it from 3400 status to the actual build date for you? Has anyone heard any info if GM plans to make an exception in extending the offer for at least a two week period since it was an unannounced factory shutdown? Thanks.
