red air bag light
is there a definitive fix for the red airbag light that illuminates after spirited driving? checked the harness under the seat and it appeared ok.

I have an 06.. airbag light on all the time.. took it in, they replaced the harness under the seat, and no fix.. they found a TSB regarding the pretensioners in the belts.. they replaced both driver an pax side.. No airbag light since.. 4+ years now

here;s the problem. the light goes off after i restart the car. does the dealer really want to know that it comes on after high speeds? and i sure as heck dont want the techs drivin the thing hard to reproduce the problem. does it set a code in the computer?

I had similar results.. off after starting, then on later.. There was a code, and they replaced the harness because it came unclipped from the bar under the seat, and with the exit mode moving the seat back and forth every time you got in and out, it rolled the connecter and pulled a pin. I eventually tie wrapped it so it wouldn't rotate down and drag on the carpet and roll.. The airbag light kept coming on even after that fix, and they found the pretensioner problem/TSB.. From what it sounds like with spirited driving.. there may be a bad connector somewhere else that gets affected from the accelerations.. If the light is or has been on.. there should be a code in there that can tell them what sensor is the culprit.

If you can pull a DTC, these bullitens may help:
#07-09-41-009: Airbag Light On, DTC )23 Set (Diagnose and Replace Right Front Seatbelt Retractor Assembly, If Necessary) - (Dec 17, 2007)
#08-09-41-002A: Diagnostic information for Intermittent Restraints, Air Bag (SIR) Indicator/Lamp On with DTC(s) B0012, B0013, B0014, B0016, B0019, B0020, B0022, B0023, B0026, B0033, B0040, B0042 or B0044 Set - (Aug 14, 2008)
Technicians may encounter an intermittent or current SIR indicator on the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) with DTC(s) B0012 04, 0E; B0013 04, 0E; B0016 04, 0E; B0019 04, 0E; B0020 04, 0E; B0022, B0023 04 0E; B0033 04, 0E; B0040 04, 0E; B0042 and B044 set in the sensing and diagnostic module (SDM).
This could be caused by a loose, missing, or broken Connector Position Assurance (CPA) retainer at the Air Bag for the set DTC.
If loose, remove the connector and reinstall correctly by first pushing the connector body in completely and then pushing in the CPA retainer completely. If the CPA is broken, missing or will not seat in the connector correctly, replace the CPA retainer with P/N 54590003 (Orange CPA) that is located in the SIR Repair Tray (J-38125-SIR) of the terminal repair kit.
If the CPA retainer P/N 54590003 (Orange CPA) cannot be located in the terminal repair kit, contact Kent Moore Tools @ 1-800-GM-TOOLS and order P/N 54590003-PKG to obtain a package of 5.

My car does the same freaking thing!!! I posted about it several weeks ago. I ran the car up to 180+ and that light came on. Every time I run the car into the upper numbers I will get the red airbag light.

Air bag indicator light
My air bag indicator light comes "intermittently". Took to the dealer, checked connections and reset the error code. Didn't tell me the code found. Still happens, hit OnStar button and they ran diagnostics and said it was code B0041.
Any help / suggestions would be appreciated.

Many trips to the dealer and paying my GMPP deductible for a new pretension did not fix my intermittent check air bag light. It was off and on for years. Finally after reading on the forum about the connectors under the seats I took action. I zip tied them together as tight as I could and have not had the light since. It's been about a year now and I am sure the problem is fixed. I payed the dealer for nothing and many wasted hours at the dealer for nothing. The picture shows the connectors. They are at the rear of the seat and are clipped to the seat.
