Also tire pressure can make a big difference,, both in feel and MPG depending on the brand of tire.. Stock tires felt great to me at the recommended 30psi and got good MPG, the Michelins felt better at 32psi and still got less MPG.. my current Bridgestones feel better at 32psi and get about the same MPG as the Goodyears did at 30psi.
I try to keep my tire pressure adjusted as the weather changes but this morning with cold hard tires, psi down to 30, temps were mid 30s, I only got 24mpg on the freeway going to work. Usually I get 29 or 30.
