I have seen a couple mentions of folks getting 26 MPG or higher on the highway - I certainly have not been able to accomplish that. We went on a two hour drive, had the cruise set on 78-80 and averaged about 21.4 over and back. Do you have to drive 65 to get the high MPG? (cuz I don't think I could do that!) :o
But I live more in the country to in the "city" is setting the cruse at 50 or 55 and crusing alot of the time untill I get in town where the stop and go begins. on the highway if i set cruse at 65 and instant says 32 but at 80 i believe its around 22 or so... I think it depends on what motor you have to LS2 I believe gets slightly better milage than the LS3.
I drive 75 miles each way, twice a week, with 50 miles of the 75 on the interstate, with the cruise control set on 77 mph. I get 27.5 to 28 mpg for those 50 miles. My 08 coupe is an A6.
I'm averaging about 15 mpg around town, not exactly stop 'n go driving, but almost.

I drove to Vegas in my 2010 GS a few months ago (~5 hours) and was able to squeeze out 28 mpg at the best. The trip back to Phoenix was much less environmentally friendly, as I found myself accidentally passing slower cars uphill at 115mph a few times
31,000 miles mostly city stop and go to work just 2 miles away which can take 20 minutes just to get home in the evenings and I have averaged 20.4 mpg.

What does everyone usually average town/highway?
At 70 MPH, on cruise, and a good 4 lane highway, I get 28.5-29 MPG with my 09 Z06. That's actual, not the DIC avg, which reads a little higher. At steady 75-80 my gas mileage drops a couple of MPG.
I drove to Talladega, ran the track at 160+ MPH and returned home some 1200 miles and avg'd ~25 MPG(actual, hand calculated). I drove to the Smokey mtns, ran the Tail, etc, and returned home some 2600 miles and avg'd 24.9 MPG(actual, hand calculated).
I don't run enough gas through the car just driving in the city(stop and go driving for a couple of hundred miles with no highway driving isn't my style) to give you a mileage report. The car is a weekend fun car, so it gets a mix of driving conditions when I take it out. I would guess that I'm avg'ing around 21-23 MPG for the entire 15,000 miles that I have had the car(since new).
I have followed this topic here and on other sites over the years. Just a few observations I have made. Slower is better. Flat landers do better. Lower elevation is better. People that rely on the DIC do a lot better. My DIC consistently reads 1.5 MPG over my hand calculations. That being said: My overall average for the last 16K is 22.1. 3/4 of my driving is rural and the rest is 75 to 80 on the freeway. Stock 6.2. Later! Frank
Around town we are getting a little over 18 so far. We have an 07 manual - would you think something is wrong somewhere (out of tune maybe) since the highway is so low?
