We didn't buy it for the mileage either just wanted to make sure there wasn't something wrong with it and we didn't know it since we're the third owners. Thank you much for all your help!
I'm thinking next spring/summer we will get significantly less than we are getting now!
Plus...gas is different. I run 94 octane ethanol FREE gas that I can purchase locally in Springfield, MO. When I go on a long trip, where I have to purchase the 10% scam stuff, my gas mileage drops ~1.5 MPG.
Dosen't sound like much, but when I say I get 28.5 MPG (running with ethanol free gas) and then say I get 27 MPG(with 10% ethanol which most people have no choice but to purchase) then 27 MPG dosen't sound quite as good, but it's the same car and the same driver, just different gas.
I don't use my 2011 base C6 MN6 as a daily driver. It is just a fun car. I have a little over 2600 miles on it and I have been averaging 26 mpg or better hand calculated. We like to drive to central Ohio from northeast Ohio to Holmes and Coshocton counties. There are a number of great roads where you can have fun with the car. Very little traffic with enough twisties to have a great time. We drive 70 mph going down and back on the highway and whatever we can on the backroads going through the gears. Even with the "fun" driving we still have been averaging +/-26 mpg on a 250 to 300 mile trip.

94 or 91 octane makes no difference. The ethanol free does.

True in a car that is designed to run on 91 octane or less, but it's also true that I run 94 octane in my Z06. It does make a difference in MY car, that is tuned for 93 octane gas.
I have seen a couple mentions of folks getting 26 MPG or higher on the highway - I certainly have not been able to accomplish that. We went on a two hour drive, had the cruise set on 78-80 and averaged about 21.4 over and back. Do you have to drive 65 to get the high MPG? (cuz I don't think I could do that!) :o
What does everyone usually average town/highway?
You didn't mention what car, engine or year..
But
I average 24.5mpg over all, do more highway than anything else.
On a flat freeway at 75mph with cruise on I get 26mpg, at 70mph I get 29mpg.
2011 LS3 2LT coupe manual. I never cruise faster than about 75mph.

Post #20, he stated he has a 07 with a manual transmission and in a later post he said he has a Z51.
from your avatar I'm assuming you don't have a GS thus at 75 MPH he is turning 230 RPM more then you in 6th gear, that will eat up around 2-3MPG. But he should be seeing a little better gas mileage then he is. Is your mileage hand calculated or by the DIC? My DIC reads about 1-1.5 MPG higher then hand calculated.
'09 A6 Z51 vert, 34,000 miles used to get 21-22 city, 28-29 hwy, but since I put on the Z06 muffs with the mod and M2W, it has really gone down! Wonder why

You are correct, I have a narrow body. I've calculated it by hand a couple of times and it has always matched the DIC exactly so I just go by the DIC now.
I do drive pretty mellow and when I don't it makes noticeable difference. To the point if I am down to the last 1/4 tank I become even mellower.
But then I had a Jeep Wrangler before and no matter how mellow I drove, the best I could average was 15mpg.

I have a 05 A4 with 3.15 gears and some bold on mods. Around town I usually get approximately 19 miles a gallon.
On long trips from New Jersey to Florida my mileage varies between 26 and 29 miles a gallon depending on how much stuff the wifie makes us load into the car
Prior to the bolt on mods it used to average over 30 mpg on long trips.
It would be good if everyone would state the year, model and engine.
It all matters.
On my 94 coupe, 383/430hp, 6sp, I averaged 28 on trips. My best was 33 mpg indicated, at 72 mph. That was the majic number.
On my 2012 GS coupe, stock LS3, 6sp, I average 20.5 mpg. It only has 1000 miles. Best indicated is 23 mpg. I hope it gets better. No big deal if it doesn't.
I have no idea what either of my C6s get for mileage. They do well enough to not be an issue.
Unlike the 3 hours this evening I spent cruising around in my recently resto-modded '68 GTO convertible. Filled its tank at the beginning of the cruise, and a very sizeable chunk of it was gone when I pulled into the garage. Holy crap. Cool ride, for sure, but thirsty.
What a great reminder of just how fabulous the C6 cars are for power and fuel mileage.
