Here in the State of Chaos (State of CA. as you know it) you will get ticketed especially by the CHP and when you do they will come around and look for the front plate on your Corvette which is another fine.
I got a ticket at 5:30 AM driving leisurely in the slow lane the first time.
The CHP officer put a meter on my side tinted window and said it is not to spec.
Here in the Republik of CA you cannot put any kind of material or covering on your side windows as it is in violation of the kalifornia Vehicle Code. If you do you will get cited and still have to pay for the fine even if you do choose to remove the tint.
I paid $200 for all 3 windows in 2005 with the rear being 95% limo tint that only let in 5% light but that's legal and that tint is still holding up perfect to this date. There is no peeling or anything like that. It's a great job.
The side windows I got cited for twice and they are not 95% limo tint but of a lighter shade.
I don't know what the prices are today here but I am sure in any other state of the union it will cost alot less in the Republik of KA as we pay more for less here for everything.

I have a great Tint person here and my car is 15% all around with 35% down the front. Cost me $220.00 for the entire job.

It was some years ago but I paid approximately $160 for tinting the side windows and rear hatch glass. It was the same company the local dealership uses.

I just got mine done this weekend for 175.00 on Long Island. The guy I used tints all the local car dealers so he did an excellent job. He's done many vettes, does the back window in one piice, shrink wraps the tint, etc. I have the white around the dots. Unless you are willing to pay BIG money, the white around the dots is unavoidable.
He does side work on his off time...

pm me if anyone wants his contact info....

My guy has done all of my cars which includes 3 vettes. 160 is the most he has charged for the 2 coupes. I have always done 5%.

I checked on my cost -- $205+tax for a 2011 C6. This price was for the
3-M "Black Chrome" tint installation which included the rear window and both the driver and passenger windows. I picked this tint as it was the most heat reducing tint available with a 58% heat reduction. Living in a desert, heat reduction is very important to me.

The installer wanted a full day for the job. I surmise that was as much to allow the adhesive to get a good start on the 3 day cure as it was an indicator of how long the installation process took. Be prepared to NOT open the windows for 3 days to insure the tint adhesive set.

Do check on the quality of their installation. A "few" Corvettes needs better quantification or at least an independent reference(s). A bad job is a big waste of your $'s and time. A good job is a joy to drive and own.

I will respectfully 100% disagree.

When mine was tinted, the dots were covered by a piece of black vinyl. The job looks perfect, the dots are hidden and there was no extra fee for doing the job correctly.

I also would not recommend tint work from someone doing it "on the side". Find a professional tint shop with a good reputation that has been around for a long time. They don't get that way by doing substandard tint work.

I just might do that. Problem is Texas is a BIG state and I wouldn't know where to start.
I believe it is also one of those states that has no state income tax.

Is she robotic like all CHP officers? Letter to the law?
Paradise is in Butte Co? I heard that is a good place to retire BUT it is still in the State of Chaos.

I agree with you about the vinyl. However, around these parts NOBODY wanted to to it that way. They had some other alternatives which I didn't want to get into and they wanted big big money. I chose someone who came highly recommended who has been doing to for 25 years.

That's quite-a-bit more than the going rate where I live but the price you were quoted may be the going rate in your area. I'd certainly shop around with emphasis on finding a company experienced working on Corvette glass. I'd ask your local dealership who they use to tint Corvette windows. Good luck.

I wish I would have known that!! I just had mine done and the DOT Matrix looks like *** to me. He said he will come back out in a few days to press them back down.
