Default Top Gear UK

Im sure the majority of you are familiar with TV show Top Gear. Personaly i love this show but something has been eating at me for a while now. On the show they have the Stig take every car they review around their test track and set a lap time and compare these lap times on their leaderboard. Quite a while ago now they reviewed the Corvette ZR1 what I believe was the 2010 model, but they never set a lap in it i believe its because they didnt want an american car in the top 10. I wanna know from you guys what time you think the ZR1 could put down?

He had some criticism of it, but considering the cars he has purchased I would say it is an endorsement.

They did the lap time in the ZR1 when Jeremy tested it against the Audi R8....Stig took them both around and the Zr1 beat the V-10 Audi by a chunk.

Maybe the 1.75-mile course design (by Lotus) has something to do with it.

I wouldn't read too much into those tracks times that they have posted on the show. Look who drives the cars that they keep times with: Helen Mirren, Hugh Grant, Cameron Diaz and a Rolling Stones guitar player? C'mon. Really?

I sure do. And I have seen them post the times around the track in different cars by these exact people. In fact, Cameron Diaz was on the first show of the season with Tom Cruise and when he went around the track he tipped the car up on two wheels. I even have the show with the Bugati Veyron reaching 200 and 50? some odd mph that was on last year on tape......And also they had the rerun of them driving the 2005 Corvette and Jeremy Clarkson complaining about the rear leaf springs a few weeks ago. I watch it all the time.......

The Helen Mirren show is supposed to be on this week. The rerun with Ronnie Wood (Rolling Stones Guitarist) is on Friday @ 7pm EST on the BBCA channel. Oh, Simon Cowell is supposed to be on this week too. There's another hot driver. Now tell me I don't watch it big boy!!.......

The celebrities all drive the same cheap car, and have a separate scoreboard. The Stig drives the exotic cars, and has a different scoreboard. The celebrities never drive the exotic cars - only the Presenters and the Stig.

Well, excuse me but they always post their times on the leaderboard like the OP said. In fact Tom Cruise (who was on with Cameron Diaz) had the fastest time and was at the top of the leader board at the beginning of the season. I just watched the show a couple weeks ago. Hugh Grant's time went somewhere on the leaderboard and so did Ronnie Wood's.

This discussion started about the Corvette and other fast cars, which the celebrities don't drive. There are 2 leaderboards - one for the Stig driving exotic cars, and one for the celebrities who all drive the same cheap car. You implied that the celebrities were driving the fast cars.

OK. If you guys say so. I've just seen them stick all their names up on the board. I must have missed that. Sorry.

We say so. (I've watched all 17 seasons. I think I know how the show works.)
