Thanks, I contacted Chevrolet customer service last week, the responded within 24 hours and followed up with the dealer. Area Rep. said he would call back after he has been notified that the water problem has been corrected.
OP, sorry to hear of your troubles. Sometimes a new car just doesn't come off the line like it should, regardless of the make. Hope you get it straightened out so you can enjoy it. They really are great cars. I'm on my third C6 and have had no significant quality issues with any of them. Good luck to you.
The only real problem with my 08 has been with suspension end links replaced twice (warranty item) discoloration of some of the trim pieces and the deformed cowl piece...of which was probably caused by the extreme heat out here and poor part quality, all but cowl under warranty. Other then that just maintenance items, brakes, tires, battery, oil, 30 k service, trans flush, fuel system service, filters...air, cabin, oil, the only other thing was before ownership (battery, TPS Sensor replace), 41k...no complaints.
Hey 'norton' sorry to hear of your troubles, hopefully GM will take of things. Also, FWIW, don't think for one minute these things happen only to domestic vehicles......if you do, try not to fall out of your 'vacum tube' !
Can't see how an AC belt could be missing from a brand new car from the factory. The dealer does go thru a check list once the car hits the ground.
You added an heads up display. The car did not come with one ? What was the trim level you purchased ?
You bought a base model with upgraded wheels. Did the dealer install them for you ?
Water coming in thru the door and not the window, roof or windshield ?
This makes no sense.
It's possible he doesn't have the answers. It's not his job to know what comes with the car or where the water comes from. All he has to do is ask for a Corvette with a HUD, these wheels and those tops... For the water leak, all he has to say to the dealer is that the carpet is full of water there or whatever.
It would be different if he was asking for help in fixing those issues, but for now he is just venting.

I would have liked to of seen pictures of the leaking and the missing belt.
sorry OP, quite a bizzare deal...could say you are really unlucky..and i guess if the factory is gonna "screw one up", they did a" Royal Job" on yours..
and i do understand your frustration...i had an 01 Z with the oil issues, and some will remember what a hassel that was..ugh!!, but , i got the bugs worked out of it, then drove it 60k care free miles...sold it and new owners still enjoy it...oh, and i have owned another c5 c,c6z,and currently a c6 csc...
so hopefully , there will be a good ending to your ordeal....
best of luck from your corvette friends..............bud

OP, if I had the issues with my new vette that you do I'd be very unhappy too. Fortunately for me with 3 current vettes I've had only 1 issue with my 09 convertible and that was the corvette flag on the nose that had to be replaced. My 09 Z06 and coupe have been 100% trouble free.
Someone else mentioned lemon law. Every state has it so start documenting the days in the dealership for any issue. good luck to you.
I have a 2005 with 65k miles - purchased as a certified vehicle at 23k miles. I don't know what was repaired or replaced before I bought it but I've replaced end links, battery cables, a water pump at 60k, and had a bad ecm that tied up my car for 3 weeks. Is it the best car I've ever owned - no; is the worst car I've ever owned - no. The C6 is relatively cheap to buy, fairly inexpensive to maintain, and a lot of fun. It's not the holy grail of cars that many on this site make it out to be but for people like me who can't afford exotics, its a pretty good choice.
If I could use the language that I would like to your discounting my story, I'm sure it would not be posted. My coimments express my frustration. I have the service records, I have contacted Chevrolet Customer Service and have been assured that the area service rep will follow up.
What year was this car and if it set a dealership long enough they may have used the air belt to fix a customers car and your dealer maybe not the best at diagnois problem. Engines come fully dressed so that missing belt would have been missed. I've owned 29 corvettes old models gave trouble but dealers created more. On the newer ones not so much but I've had several that required new clutches. I order new and they came in off truck needing clutch GM fault or Yard people who drive cars to load?
SORRY FOR your trouble had new Infiniti G35 Coupe in 2004 needed new brakes and rotors at 15000 miles and they knew about this problem and gave me ext warr. car was traded for new Corvette for wife to drive no problems for her Corvette at all. MY lawn mower runs fine but don't give me one to ride in, Toyotas have no torque and this is what moves you not 10000 rpm sewing machine engs.

I have had Vettes since 1979 and have logged well over 500,000 miles combined on them. I have had very few mechanical issues with most of them. About 5 years ago I "strayed" and bought a new Mercedes SL 500 and had more issues with that car than my last 3 Vettes combined. I'm just saying.........
sounds like someone knew the car had an A/C issue before you took delivery and removed the compressor belt and you bought it befor they could resolve the problem. I had a 2010 GS that has issues with body panel fit but GM got me out of the car and treated me fairly. I have an 08 and a 12 and both excellent cars.
both fuel pumps went out on my dads mercedes e55 amg. all companies have problems, sounds like you got a bad car. sorry to hear that. hope you don't have any more problems
And for the record mine has never been back to the dealer...
I have driven vettes since the early 70's and have only once or twice been back to the dealer for warranty or recalls. Sorry for you problems, but I guess a bad apple gets out of Bowling Green every so often.
If you don't want to buy GM again, your prerogative. But your reasoning is invalid.
One person having problems does not make an entire line poorly built.
FACT!!!! no manufacture produces vehicles with zero problems!!!!!
Corvette specifically has about the same quality and dependability rating as Porsche, which is very good.
Chevy's overall quality and dependability rating is not very good yet it is better than BMW's overall rating.
It is unfortunate when a person has problems, but they happen. The more logical reason to dump a company is if they don't fix the issues, or don't fix them correctly.
I was hesitant to buy another Chevy after the company screwed me on repairing my Silverado pickup. I am not sure I have a lot of faith in the parent company but instead I switched dealers. I have had only one problem with my new C6 in 11k miles and that was a loose solder connection in my radio that was fixed it promptly and professionally.
I had a Jeep Wrangler I drove for 60k miles, very low dependability rating. Yet I had no problems. Even in vehicles with low ratings it is only a few that have problems and very few that have serious issues.
You may read a lot of complaints on forums, but then most people that don't have problems never come to the forums.
