From this front view that was posted today it looks pretty good.

[/QUOTE]

From these photo, the convertable top looking pretty much the same as C5. "Thank goodness", the rest of the car looks great, if they could only not make the tail light with that ugly U shape thing like the Camaro. I bet if you black them out it would look bad ***! ....Just saying. BTW, not sure why they have to put a pocket like thing got the exhaust, I could live with out that.

60 to 61 is what I believe they call a Mid Cycle Refresh. Same main body panels and architecture, but revised front and rear, lights, maybe interior and mild performance enhancements. Most car models go through that at around 3 to 4 years in. Like when the c4 changed from round to squarish taillights and different front. If the C7 really has the rectangular tails, I wouldn't be surprised if the were changed to round at the MCR, especially if enough people complain about it! I'm sure I'm going to love many of the changes they make and it WILL be a better car. But I'm in no hurry and will wait to see what changes and other variations they come out with.

How can one not love the old & new lines in an 80-82?:

And to keep it on C6 topic, my old 82 next to my 13:

The new owner is to the far right in this picture:

If I had the cash & space, I'd have kept my C3 & not sold it, which helped greatly to finance my C6.

That 82 looks great.

Do any upgrades to the cross-fire or left her stock?

Thanks, bone stock aside from Cragar SS 17" wheels & torch red paint vs the stock red for that year.

You must be a member of the press only using part of my sentence in a quote. You quoted what I said as:

"I've loved every generation better than the next with the exception of the C3 later year models (78-82),"

But the rest of the sentence said:

"and I still love them but hard to beat the C2 for any year."

What that means is only I didn't love the C3 more than the C2.

These are supposedly from the 2014 owners manual.

Calling it a 6.5 is, and I say this with the upmost respect, one of the most ridiculous statements I've seen in this forum. There are virtually no shared components and only the most general styling similarities.

I also had the '85. It had, what, 230 hp? The 2007 has 400. Obviously that is a HUGE difference. The C7 is going from the current 430/505/638 hp models to an estimated 450 hp. In other words, many people will see a huge DROP in performance if they move from a C6 to a C7. Maybe if the government changes drastically and we dispose of the coming big tax on "low" mileage cars that get "only" 30 mpg we will see the return of the higher performance models but that is going to take even longer than it did on the C4 and C5 and C6 because it isn't just the limits of engineering and marketing that are in the way now.

Maybe I misunderstood your comment. I thought you were CURRENTLY in a C4.

In the event the vert looks like, or better than what is depicted above, I will likely be a second year buyer. Evolution happens gents, it is what it is. Anytihng new in this life is different. Over time it settles in and is just a pair of comfy jeans. The new vette will be no different. For those who hate it now, hold on and write me in three years to tell me you still do. how can you hate something that hasnt actually been seen in person just yet?
I dont like the idea of eating a cow either, but when presented as a nice fillet, I love the idea.

The next Gen will not be called 6.5. Every part is different except for 2 I believe.

My prediction for the C7 will be a nicer quality interior, a continued stellar drivetrain, and a different body style with harder lines. I think the next gen will look awesome, especially once the widebody version comes out. I don't think it will look 'better' than the C6. It will be a different look.

Good point, but recall when the C6 was first released there too was only one engine available and while it represented a significant increase in power relative to the C5 it was lower in horsepower relative to the C5 Z06.

Then came the Z06, then the ZR1 then the LS3 (this is why I would have a hard time buying a new C7 in its first 4 model years). Will we see similar variants? Perhaps, but somehow I doubt that we'll ever see 7.0 or more liters of displacement. I think that was a nostalgic throwback at a time when gas prices were more stable.

If they really did give it tails similar to the Camaro, that's going to ruin it for me.

If you consider what is in the post right above to be similar to the Camaro then IMHO it is ruined for you. I believe they will look like pictured or VERY similar.

Its ok. I could do without the rear treatment and to me the hatch from the rear looks a bit like the Crossfire. Not going to rush out and trade in my C6 right away on one though. We will see how it develops in the next couple years.

I am very hesitant about the LT 1 multi displacement. With all the issues with the first year LS 6, the LS 7 and the harmonic balancers they still cant get right I would have to wait and let others do the bleeding edge evaluation.

Exactly, the new LT1 is going to have to prove itself and that will take nothing but time with most owners.
