GS v Coupe
Regarding performance of GS v Base Coupe: I guarantee 99.8 % of buyers will NEVER HAVE THE SKILLS TO OUT-DRIVE THE CAPABILITIES OF base coupe, let alone GS with bigger tires. For the .2 % who track their cars, wear a helmet and good luck. If you want to spend more for appearance, your choice. But don't think you're getting more performance. ZO6 or ZR1. If 436HP in a base coupe isn't enough, you have other issues.
Check out Corvette's of Houston website. Probably the largest reseller of low mile Vettes. 95% of listings at their three locations are GS or ZO6. Hard to find a C6 base seams to me a lot of owners are unloading GS and very few selling C6 base. Not a scientific conclusion, but makes you wonder.

GS uses the same size tires as the Z06. I'm running Bridgestone RE050A run flats on my Z06 and with 15,000 miles on them I'm down the 7/32"-8/32" tread depth. Oh, and didn't pay $2,500 for them. Paid about the same price as you would pay for a set of the Goodyear run flats that are found on a base C6.

I have Nitto Invos on mine and replaced the old set after 28k miles. The tire wear/cost replacement debate is null and void as my set cost me much much less than a set of C6 base tires and lasts longer.

Are we gonna find out which is the best car before CF runs out of bandwidth?!!!......
Cuz I gotta to know if I f@#$%d up buying my Z51, for crying out loud.... and here I am, 5 months and 20 pages later, still shivering and unable to get any sleep at night, and still not knowing despite an hourly check on updates!!!!

EVERYONE knows that Adam's is the only wax that is worth of being used on a Vette!! The rest should be used to wax dump trucks or a Conestoga wagon!!
Of course, it has to be a GS, they're the REAL C6!! Oh yes, it has to be a vert too, because real Vettes can go topless!!
Arctic White is the only color Vettes come in!! The rest are mistakes!! Prince wanted to title the song Little Arctic White Corvette but the producers convinced him it wouldn't sound right when they recorded it!!
Now that we've finally settled all of that once and for all, let's close this thread and talk about oil filters or anti-freeze!!!

i have the base 2lt and i'll tell you, it's worth the option if you have the money. my mistake was to buy the base before checking all other options. i just didn't do my homework on my computer. thats what the wife tells me.
i bought my car this past january and just paid it off last week. kicking the idea around to trade up for the gs, wife looks crosseyed at me, so maybe i won't
but this much i'll tell you, i'll never buy the conversion kit for the simple reason the car will stay plain stock as long as i own it. engine mod is something else, as far as that goes. i'd like to get another 50 hp out of it, thats all. but, if wife gives me the ok, then it's gs time.

Here this decides it, the Panties come off, paid $1100 for 4 Nitto's, and grin everytime I see that Fat azz, and the color JSB rules.
