Default Inexpensive 1LT Interior Modifications

Sure, a 3LT would have been smarter for me - but this 2012 low mileage C6 base 1LT just showed up at the right time.

So - I decided I had a few priorities with the interior:
1. Low budget
2. Comfort for daily driving
3. Adding some color
4. Have fun

I'm pretty happy with the end result. This isn't supposed to compete with the gorgeous custom interiors many have put solid time and money into that are gorgeous. But hoping maybe someone will get an idea or two who is looking for greater comfort at budget cost

Console pad: $89
Armrests: $110
Handle grabs: $32
Dash letters: $39
Lloyd Ultimats: $144
Cup holder on console - $5
Wheelskin: $69
Red tape to cover up my goof of using too much primer around dash letters - $11
Seat covers: $24 each, neoprene, whose primary purpose is to cover up the $19 seat pad, and $14 lumbar foam which was too big and I cut to fit

Photos - completed interior, then pic of console prior to pad installation, and pics of pad and foam under seat covers.

Ah - forgot the Garmin Nuvi (can see the cord, and plug in for it, but it's not in there in pic - $329 - which is my navigation alternative choice instead of replacing center unit.

Good job at bringing some color into the cabin.

Where did you get the handle grab covers? My handles are getting all scratched up.

Grab covers, console cover and armrests all came from Corvette Mods.

Your "seat pad" may be necessary only because you have the bottom adjusted too low. The electric mechanism is so close to the seat bottom, that you will feel it in your butt if you adjust the seat too low. It's a crappy design. So, simply adjust the seat bottom up a tad and you may no longer need the seat cushion.......

Whoever says it looks good is simply lying to you! I'm all for saving a few bucks here and there but that just looks cheap and dis tasteful. Remove the seat covers and at least buy a used set of two tone OEM ones on the forum at a decent price, oh and the silly Corvette letters and design has to go. IMHO

Sorry don't agree. I happen to like the lettering and people use seat covers to save the original leather all the time and OEM seat covers don't always match the look a person wants. It's their Vett and their choice on how they want to change things up. The OP posted to give others some ideas on inexpensive mods and readily admits it's not a 5 grand makeover.

For about $200 i got a decent set of two tone neoprene seat covers from Midamerica Motorworks. Look good, not cheap, and are comfortable, and do a good job of protecting the seats....

I picked up some neoprene seats from wet okole for my dodge truck. It was the only place I could find the burnt orange color. Neoprene does make a nice cover but at 200 or 300 are still fairly pricy. There is a set of S leather seats on ebay for around 180.00 for a c6 that look pretty good as well. Either way everyone has a budget that they work within.

Thanks for most of the posts. hdkeno - I was looking at those same seat covers. Nice to see them installed. Think those will be my replacements when mine wear out.

Yeah, and I live on a horse ranch. You know - hay, dust, horses, dogs. Some people actually go in and out of their cars! I've put 2K miles on my car in the past 1 1/2 months and am enjoying the heck out of it. Hope you have time to enjoy yours.

Actually, you've given me an idea of where to put my seat covers

I've heard lots of folks talking about discomfort along with tight budgets, and it's posted in case someone might think about a part - like the console cover, or get ideas. Don't like it, don't do it. Think I'll add some more red lines to the console
