Eye Candy!!
If you were a body shop manager, and you were ordering that rear side body panel, please name the car manufacturers who's nomenclature refers to a Rear Fender, and not a Left, or Right Rear Quarter panel.
Perhaps I should not have said there are "no rear fenders".
That was wrong, because the old Volkswagen Beetles, and a few other, mostly older vehicles, had bolt on fenders for both the front and rear of the car, because the rear fender on those cars, bolted onto the quarter panel.
Pretty rare these days.
Perhaps I should have been more specific and referred to "one piece" rear panels, such as the Corvette, and nearly every other car made in recent times.
If you're talking about the front panels, yes they are fenders.
If you're talking about rear panels, you'll have to show me.
"This car"....what is the "this car" you're referring too?
If it's a C6, you'll have to explain why parts suppliers, including GM, call it a Quarter Panel?

Based on what you said, if I ordered a Candy Apple Red paint color on a new car, I would of course expect it to be a premium color with an extra charge.
Compared to all the standard metallic colors such as Blue, Green, Bronze, etc., what amount extra, would you think should be charged for a factory paint job in Candy Apple Red?

But I do get your point. What is called a trunk was actually a trunk, not a compartment. Some things change but the name sticks.
You keep referring to very expensive hand rubbed lacquer paint jobs.
It's like I'm talking about bananas, and you want to talk about oranges.
The others get it, but you don't for some reason.
Like I said, it's all good, this really isn't very important anyway.

In which I stated that "I love Candy Apple when done right".
And your response was.
I could care less about current base coat clear coat finishes in candy apple. When I first said “done right” I was not referring to base/clear. A color of which does not come close to what I am describing. My version of done right is not base/clear.
We are talking oranges/apples and I got that from the very beginning that you seemed to have trouble understanding my “done right” statement. I don’t find a base/clear in candy apple nearly as appealing.
No it’s not important at all . I’m going to check out now because who the hell cares.

And back on topic. I love the look of that Vette.

Sorry but it’s not me that didn’t get it originally.
