Unbelievable.. Here at the dealer, ready to drive away and the power seat doesn't work but, when I get out of the car, not sitting in it, the seat works.. Bottom line the seat doesn't work sitting in it and works not sitting in it.. I had to leave it to find out something Monday.. Wow...

Sounds like something is not making contact with your weight on the seat. The module that controls everything is right under your rear when sitting in the seat.

That sucks. Have you ever had problems with the seat before? Probably just a loose plug, I hope.

Interesting.. I hope it's little.. If they charge me I won't be happy.. It should have been back to normal.. Do you think this has anything to do with the radio replacement?

It is easy enough to pull seat bottom cushion up to expose the module and all the wiring to see if anything is not making good contact. These cars have soo many different modules. Is your driver seat bottom worn down?

I don't think it's worn, normal wear if anything.. The car only has 44k on it... I had no clue there was a module under there.. Is it possible that it has any connection to the replacement of the radio?.. Just seems odd this happens right after it gets fixed..

I don't see how they would be connected, unless tech was heavy guy and caused when he was in driver seat. I have also seen seat wires comes loose when moved back too far.

Thanks.. Hopefully that is just it since it still works when not sitting on it.. I actually forgot to mention to the dealer that I noticed the steering wheel doesn't work as well. I tried to adjust it right before leaving as well and it was dead.. Do you think there is any connection there?.. I'm calling them in about 15 mins. When they open.

Yes, there is. It usually is the wiring connection under the seat and can come loose when the seat is moved. The dealer needs to check the connection and "lock" it with plastic zip ties.

Interesting. It is the BCM computer that tells the radio to turn on or off by instructions through the digital network but it is the computer in the radio that actually turns the power on and off to the other units. It is surprising that the radio would still work if that computer was not functioning correctly. It decides when to power the aux amp and the antennas. But if it were letting all the other units run then I guess it is possible. How this fixes the issue.

Yeah, he said there was a short in the radio that made it continuously run. You could totally hear it when the cr shut off. It sounds like the cd player was ejecting the cd continuously. Honestly, it was going on for the 2 years and I thought it was normal. Ot would make the sound and sometimes it wouldn't after shutting off the car.. It must have finally burned out the radio.. I did get the car back tonight thank God.. :-)
I have learned a lot by reading this thread/series of posts. I hope the radio replacement will absolutely and permanently solve the problem.
Wow! Same here! I would have never thought a radio would cause this much af an electronic gremlin. My next question would be if you don't mind me asking.... With all the labor and a new radio, what did this set you back?
