Mine is sadly enough Not chirping yet but wobble yes
NSF
Mine, too, NSF...No chirp, but decent wobble. I bought an HB last week, and will keep it handy until it starts to chirp, or wobbles more, orrrr... when I just decide it needs to be done.
Just got mine replaced last week at the dealership here, not much of a choice, having a few health issues recently so can't tackle myself, the belt churps were really irritating, so got it done. Car is running fine, only problem is, I asked that the mechanic give me all the replaced parts, I got the original H.B., and the washer, I did not receive the original balancer bolt. Not a warm and fuzzy feeling here. I was warned by a few members here not to take it to the dealer, GM will use the same H.B. that failed originally and there is a good chance I will have to do this over again. If the GM mechanic reused the original bolt then there is a definite chance that the already stretched bolt will fail. I voiced my concern with the service adviser and she stated that it was added to my service history in case of a future failure, oh by the way it's only covered for one year. Sorry for all that have to go thru this, still love the car, not a fan of GM's customer service, as stated by someone earlier, will probably be buried in this car, won't buy another one anytime soon,
Wondering here, where oh where is that GM Customer service person that posts in some of our threads once in a while, where indeed
Just leaves a bad taste in your mouth ya know. I love my Vette but boy this problem STINKS and GM knows it, does nothing

Thanks. So it's just clean oil residue, ATI HB, and ARP bolt ?
When i had mine done thats all i had to buy. Took it to local Corvette specialist ( very good )
And even tho he was carefull to clean seal it just did not take. I guess the seal "burns" on to the block when Vette is started. So i had to take back to him to have another seal. Just wanted to let you know about that...
The ATI and ARP bolt is reuseable where the stock one is not.

if having your hb changed and you don't do it yourself mark the hb bolt so you will know that it has been done.mark the balancer also and you will know if the bolt has loosened

My advice is that if you think you have a HB problem start looking now for the part. When I took my 06 w/45k miles out of storage last year and discovered the HB problem everybody was out including GM. JEGS was 4-6 weeks out and Summit was 2 weeks out. I ordered one from Summit and was told they had 45 on order and I was 14th on the waiting list! Good luck, Ron
Do you think it's a good idea to replace the seal too while you're at it ?
YES, here's what I had done: Balancer supplied by me, bolt, seal, washer, tensioner and both serpentine belts. I used the Summit SUM-C2501 balancer recommended by the mechanic at the Chevy dealership.
How difficult is it to remove the seal with the cover on? Of course it's not a bad idea, but the might as well" thought process never ends. If you pull the cover, check the/swap the chain too? Etc..etc
I would just swap the balancer unless the seal is currently leaking. Don't fix it if it ain't broke

As long as it's apart I'd change the seal leaking or not. Mine wasn't leaking and the mech changed it anyway. The whole job was billed out at 6 hours so I'm guessing the seal portion couldn't have been much of a big deal...
