Default Car shopping

I noticed a AD for a 08 Convertible at a local Used Car Dealer. I have my 08 listed for sale on the Forum for $29,500. Their car is listed for @31,990. I decided to stop by and look at their car today. It is a 08 and it is RED which I want but their listing advertises it to be a 6 spd and it is a Automatic.

As I said, I just wanted to see what makes their car worth $2500 more than mine. Answer nothing!

It is a 2LT car, mine is 3LT, theirs no Z51, mine has Z51, Theirs no NPP, mine has NPP.
But as I said, I was just looking! Makes me feel that my price is in the Ballpark!

"Used Car Dealer"

You answered yourself Dealers will almost always be above private sale price. Just because they're asking that price, doesn't mean it's worth that. For example, I picked up my 2008 3LT NPP Z51 for 30k with 6k miles on it this year, at a dealer. The car at the dealer is not worth the price, IMO, even though convertibles tend to ask for a bit more usually.

Definitely overpriced. My VR 08 vert is 3LT, has NPP, and has the Z51 package with M6. It had 28.5k miles when I bought it and I paid 31k for it.

Mine is also a convertible. I was trying to compare apples to apples. I worked for a Dealer in Sales for the most miserable 9 months in my life so I have some idea on pricing. They get a large number of their cars at the auction and they get most of them way below what they are asking. And I know that the asking price is only the starting point. But is that not the case in most transactions?
The trade is where the real money is made in most transactions. Buy low, sell high!

As you figured out "dealer overhead" baked into the price.

The noise can be reduced. I have 2 tops, clear and solid color, and I don't notice any noise from either. Many threads on here with tips on the subject.

I do not know what your comment has to do with this post?

I had a 02 and a 03 Z06, no sound deadening at all! I cannot imagine that the 2013 top would make that much noise unless it is not on correctly.

I traded a 08 Coupe for the 03 Z06 and the Z06 was much noisier!

That's the dealers asking price. No one has paid him that for it and I doubt that they will.

My 06 base w/ 70k was priced at 21,999 its 1 owner with no accidents. Negotiated down to 17k so that gives you an idea of the markup.

Sparky, you need to spend more time on the forum. That question is asked about once a week.

There are a lot of different things recommended, too many to cover them all. Do a search, you will find good answers. Good luck.
