They didn't have the frame rails like modern ones do, no, and had a lot of flex to the body. Iirc, the C4 was the first generation with full frame rails.
One word of advice, supporting the car front and rear on the suspension cradle alone is not a good idea because the support base is too narrow. It is better to support the car at the shipping lock locations, either both front and rear or front or rear.
I made my own cross beams for my Costco jack using 2x4 steel tubing, then would use jack stands under the tubing. Doing this front and rear doesn't give a wide enough base for support.

I think I'm going to go the QuickJack route. Just the labor savings of doing my own header install will help pay for much of it not to mention the brake work I do.
Yep, some use hockey pucks, others use professionally manufactured ones, mine are aluminum and mounted in the shipping locks so I won't have to make sure the dealer or whomever doesn't screw up and break my rocker panels.
I had the body off of my 69 and it has a full length boxed frame. All Corvettes have a full frame. The difference is the manufacturing process that allows the newer frames to be stiffer than previous generations.

Great point !!! I've always done the math when it comes to getting a new tool to do the labor myself compared to having it done. Now if i could just get the wife to understand the reasoning !!!!.....
