With USAA, I pay $900/yr for my Vette, and $800 for my Ford Flex. I keep mine in the garage, but they have never said I had too. I actually don't know anyone who parks a Corvette outside.

you must not have read the thread.
38 posts in 4 years. And that’s what ya bring to the table. Lolololol.
Happy saturday. Lol
Have you thought about about using an off site storage place.
Seeing you don’t have a garage maybe it could come in handy having a storage unit for other items too
now I’m not sure about the ins co insuring it in an off site storage unit.
But its its an idea I guess.
I have NCM with the 9-5 option. Able to drive to work 2x a week. With 35k agreed for 600 yr. 55yr old
Thanks everyone,
i have a spotless driving record. I had not considered trying another major ins company. The NCM said no garage no coverage. No it hardly ever hails here. I do not have an umbrella policy but am carrying 1mm$ in liability, people here are sue happy.
New Orleans Burbs....... State Farm does not, but all the specialty Insurance companies do, or seem to. I am going to call my agent Monday and ask why the deal is. I do have a Lot of coverage. 750/1mm/750. Perhaps i could go less on the Vette?
One thing I have learned as life has marched on, you gotta shop insurance companies -- ideally with an independent agent. Especially in the past 5-10 years, since the insurance companies decided to randomly jack up premiums. Ok, jack me way up and I'm going shopping. And I will always get a lower rate. But it's a huge PITA, takes a lot of time, phone calls, etc. to switch companies.
In July 2017 I switched my homeowner's to Liberty Mutual because they were cheaper than what I had. So before renewal came up this year they jacked my rate by about 1/3. I went back to my local agent and got it cheaper again (in 43 years of home ownership, I've never made one claim).
The local agents (two women that I know casually who work together) told me point-blank -- after I asked -- that they hate companies doing that because a lot of people (like me) will go shopping. It's all so pointless because after a few years everybody just goes back to where they were. In the long run, the insurance companies are not going to be better off by doing this.
Oh well, it sucks dealing with insurance companies -- especially when you have to take time out of YOUR day to call them and correct some error THEY made. Ehh, another 10-15 years and it'll all be over!

You do now because I'm one of hundreds of vette owners that live in an townhome or apt...Besides it's only a car...

Reason: add
Get hagerty I pay 700 a year for 35,000 agreed value
I pay them 600 a year and they don't care about the garage thing, although I do have one, as long as it's not parked in a public lot. A private driveway or carport is acceptable.
Location plays an important part as well as age and driving record. In Florida the Vette was $1000 with a clean driving record. I went to Grundy for $421 per year.my other 2 cars are high - almost $2100 per year and one is a 2010 Hyundai Sonata that costs almost $1000 which is totally crazy to me. I shopped around but they are all high in my area. It was less expensive when I lived on LI, NY. I paid that price for 3 cars.
good luck on your search. I would call Grundy again and talk to a different rep.
I'm 55 and pay $354 for 6 months on my 10'GS and I also have mine and my wifes Cadillacs which are $335 each for 6 months, so about $1100 for all 3 vehicles for 6 months, including full glass, towing, and $500 deductible. And I live in NY, highest taxes in the lower 48!! Sounds like your getting the shaft!

Yes, interesting.
"Down the road from you," near Canandaigua NY . . . as noted earlier > I'm paying right around $1000 annually for '07 Vette and a 2017 truck. The Vette is fully-covered all year; I'm too lazy to de-plate it for the winter, then reverse the process a few months later. Big PITA, easier to just keep it insured.
Driving record is clean as far back as they can check. But if they could go back 50 years it would be a different story,
I live in Wisconsin and have State Farm. My wife and I have had all our insurance needs with them for 26 years. My 2013 base convertible costs $42.05/month 6,000 miles per year pleasure driving, even though they never check how much mileage I put on the car. My wife has a 2018 Ford Escape Titanium with a monthly premium of $48.00/month. I have a 2017 Ford Edge Titanium with a monthly premium of $52.00/month. $500.00 collision deductible and $0 comprehensive deductible on all vehicles. I am 66 and my wife is 65.
Insurance rates can vary county to county more less state to state.
Multi car policies, deductibles, liability limits, age, home with auto, driving history, credit rating, previous claims, to name a few affect premiums.
It is IMPOSSIBLE to get a idea on how much someone's rates should be compared to someone else.

Yep....I often wonder how it would be to just bounce back & forth between companies to always try and get their (Suck You In) price. As you suggest i'm sure it would be a big time PITA. I also wonder if they have a way to keep people from bouncing back & forth........

With USAA, you can just login to your account on the web, and put any vehicle in winter storage at a very reduced rate with a couple of mouse clicks. I do that for my motorcycles. A couple more clicks reactivates full coverage. The only limitation is that storage has to be for a minimum of one month. I drive my Corvette year around, so I don't put it in storage. My motorcycles are only out of storage for about four months a year.

But in NYS you MUST turn in your plates before dropping your insurance, and then go back and get new ones in the spring. That's what makes it a PITA.
