Would you trust them to insure a Corvette? I used a local insurance broker when I was a teenager and into my 20s to keep my rates low by using the companies that would write me the lowest cost policies, but I wasn't insuring a Corvette.
Liability isn't protecting your Corvette. It is protecting people, cars, and things that you may hit with your Corvette. And doing so at the state minimum which is stupid no matter how much you pay for it.
Well, got the first estimate today and they say she can be repaired. It's currently at the stealership and the big test will be tomorrow, she's going up on the rack. If no structural damage, it's looking good. I'm cautiously optimistic.
Oh man! I’m sick seeing this! I’m in Florida and 94% of drivers on these roads need driving recertification! Happy to hear your physically fine but I can just imagine the mental anguish.
If it were me, and I love my Inferno Orange final year C6, I’d seriously consider moving on. I’d be constantly distracted by anything that wasn’t there before the accident and that’s no way to enjoy your ride.

I drove the wife's SUV to work today. I must admit I was really looking at every car pulling up to the road!
My insurance company called me today and said they denied HIS claim. I said "WHAT?!?!"...Yeah this douche bag tried to say I swerved and hit him, he was sitting still. I had already sent pics that showed the damage, I clearly had the right of way..the fool hit ME! Wow..SMH
Without a witness or compelling physical evidence, action against him will go nowhere. Get your car fixed, nothing else you can do. Yes, you could pursue him in civil court,or even small claims, but without evidence, nothing is going to happen to help you.
Collision and comprehensive cover the car. Uninsured motorist just covers medical costs. At least that's how it is around here. Uninsured motorist doesn't cover what most people think.
Not here. It simply changes your deductible to a lower amount.

Maybe this varies by state? I don’t know.......but your statement is incorrect in TN. Around twelve years ago I lived in TN, and I hit a young girl that ran a stop sign. I never even saw her. She had no insurance and my car was a total loss. My uninsured motorist coverage covered the loss of my car and they paid me top dollar for its value. I had been trying to sell the car before the accident (asking price of $5,000) and they gave me $3,000 more than my asking price. It was an older Honda Civic from college with 120k miles on it. BTW, My insurance rates never went up either.
The insurance company went after the young lady for the money they were out, but they never got anywhere with that. It was like getting blood out of a turnip.

Obviously you don't know or remember what your insurance company did. YOUR COLLISION COVERAGE PAID FOR YOUR CAR MINUS YOUR DEDUCTIBLE. If you were injured your "uninsured" coverage would have paid for your medical bills. That how car insurance works.

You might want to look into this a bit more and stop yelling at people. Uninsured motorist coverage pays for both medical costs AND property damage.
Uninsured motorist coverage is part of a car insurance policy that helps pay for your medical bills or car repairs if you're hit by a driver who doesn't have car insurance.

Are you an insurance broker? If not, why do you keep telling people how *their* insurance policy works?
As Corvette Ed correctly states: insurance policies vary from state to state. That’s a fact.
Okay I have to agree that insurance requirements vary depending on State regulations. Making you pay for underinsured drivers in states that require it is a way that insurance companies have been given a way by the regulators to double bill customers. Your collision coverage in most states covers any damage to your car no matter who is at fault.
From the quoted article:
Do I Need Uninsured Motorist Coverage If I Have Collision Insurance?
Collision insurance helps cover the cost of repairing or replacing your vehicle if it is damaged in an accident. It does not cover the costs of any medical bills for you or your passengers that may result from the accident. So, if you're hit by an uninsured or underinsured driver, you could be paying for those doctor's bills out of your own pocket. Uninsured and underinsured motorist bodily injury coverages can help with medical bills resulting from an accident.

Well, the saga finally comes to a close, total loss. The impact pretty much destroyed the rear suspension. The front took a hit too from the curb. I thought the settlement was fair so not gonna bitch. I think it's time to go ZO6! Thanks again to everyone for all the kind words and thoughts.

titanescape - It may sound crazy - but honestly - if you got a fair settlement - it's probably better that the car was totaled. You can now go out and get something that has never been hit. I don't now how everyone else feels - but if I had a choice of a car with no accident history - or a car that had been hit and repaired - - I'd go with the car that had never been in the accident every time !!!
Good luck looking - now is NOT a bad time of the year to be in the Corvette market !!!

Its a terrible time to be looking for used cars. They are bringing a much higher price now. I sold a 14 MB E350 AMG Cabriolet because of this market and got $3k more than I thought I would.
