Default Oil pressure gauge reading zero

Got an interesting one here. I disconnected negative side of battery in order to remove airbag for steering wheel swap. Got the swap done, no issues and reconnected negative side. I pushed start button to green and didn’t try to start. Gauges swept to right then left and I confirmed no airbag light. I started car and noticed I didn’t have any oil pressure on gauge and xxxx for oil pressure in message center. Coincidence or did oil pressure sensor decide to go after battery reconnect? I confirmed oil movement in valve cover. 2008 C6 Z51base 6M

I would disconnect the battery again and see if that helps. If not my guess is your oil sensor is bad. Mine went bad but read 80 psi at all times.

Found a nice solid brass one on Amazon. Works great.
