I mean to be fair this guy dropped about 6 grand all at once between the widebody, the wrap, taillights, a stereo, and all kinds of other stuff (6 months before that he did a full h/c/i build on it and a clutch which he probably had close to 2-3k in)... he had already stretched his budget a bit thinner than he'd planned. He needed black headlights to complete the look and didn't feel like dropping another $1200. Honestly I've seen both units up close and I can assure you they are the exact same light less the projector setup with the addition of the other light bar. I can't see him having any issues with them but if he does then maybe it would be worth it to look at other options. That being said I'm a cheap *** when it comes to my own car and built my own with Carbon bezels lol so I have no room to talk. I look at the c8 ones atleast once or twice a week though debating it

They are an easy way to get better headlights if the ones you have are shot. The only immediate downside is that they don't have an option for body color.
I don't think there are enough of them out there in harsh use to have a feel how they will hold up long term.
I mean at the end of the day its all chinese built garbage, even the moris... the way I look at it is if you can get a few years out of them without a bunch of issues there no different really than a factory light. Everything will eventually have issues, its just the nature of things.

My comment was more general, but you illustrate a good point about what people put value in. Your customer found a wrap more valuable than an important safety component (headlights). It's the same as when people post here "what's the cheapest tire I can buy..." but then put their $ toward longtubes & catback exhaust

I mean, their every bit as bright as the factory headlight and they technically utilize the factory headlight system with the HID so I dunno that calling it a safety issue is really fair. The parts that will fail if they do will likely be the LED boards for the running lights. I agree with you on the tire thing though lol.

I know people complain about the OEM headlights, but they are actually still pretty good. If you want to see/know what abysmal OEM headlights are, find a 2015 F-150 with OEM halogens. They are almost as bad as the old incandescent headlights were. The 1985 Bronco II I owned had better light output from the sealed beam halogens than my 2015 F-150 had. I converted it to decent rated LED drop ins so I could at least see the road.

I'm driving an 05 gmc envoy with halogens this week while my Explorer ST is in for warranty work. I forgot how awful halogens really are until the last few days lol
The cops say only red in the rear and yellow or white in front.
Now, I am aware of the scientific study that was conducted by those internet Pick Up Artists, lead by the Dr. Seuss character with the velvet top hat, that indicated that black out tail lights got women even wetter than revving your engine at a stop light, but I have opted to hanging plastic cows ***** off my bumper instead.
I don't know what BMW actually means, but I am sure the M stands for go home alone and **********.

They can say whatever they want, but they don't write the laws. The law, in AZ, is only that they tail lights must emit a red light that can be seen at 500 ft.

If you were to take a ride in my 7 Series, you would be the one at home masturbating.
Series 7 you say...would your wife and baby be with us, does it have dark tinted glass or do I have to wear a bag over my head , and could you remove the "Baby on board" sticker from the back window?
Personally don't like the Morimoto headlights - makes a C6 look like a C7 wanna-be. C7s are nice (I park next to one at work), but we have a C6 for a reason..
I have a Z06 for many reasons, but the headlights aren't one of them. I love the way my C6 looks, except for the headlights. I thought in 2005 they looked like an afterthought that clashed with the rest of the car. My opinion hasn't softened since.
I'd love to replace mine with Morimotos, but while I like the way they look, I don't like how much they cost. I can't see the headlamps when I'm driving the car, so I don't care enough to change them!

I'm very happy with mine. I applied a layer of PPF over the lens as well. You can also get them colour keyed. The JSB is my friend's car that we did the install on.

Well, that not very nice...
You know I could have said something about you offering strange guys a ride in your Bimmer and then dropping them off so they can spank their monkey, but I didn't.
What you do in the confines of a dark lit country road in the back woods of Wisconsin is up to you, that someone special and any live stalk that might be out grazing.
