I have a Z06 for many reasons, but the headlights aren't one of them. I love the way my C6 looks, except for the headlights. I thought in 2005 they looked like an afterthought that clashed with the rest of the car. My opinion hasn't softened since.
I'd love to replace mine with Morimotos, but while I like the way they look, I don't like how much they cost. I can't see the headlamps when I'm driving the car, so I don't care enough to change them!
check out Spyder headlights, fraction of the cost and look great. I have bi-LEDs on my C6Z and love them.
I looked at the Morimoto web site and missed the color key part. Do you need to special order the color keyed ones?
vettelights offers this service at an additional fee on their website. Be aware that if the headlights are taken apart to be painted your 5 year warranty is void.
The problem with the C6 is the shape.
It looks like a C5 after it husbands left it for the trophy wife, and before the intervention.
The C7 looks like it discovered Keto and joined the gym.
HEY GM, Get rid of the rounded nose, and lets seee some sharp lines!
I don't care if the car goes 10 miles an hour faster, the Guppy Mobile front bumper design looks like S**T!
Sharp edges are 1970's. Meh to Ricer lights. The original are an appropriate look.
Agree to those sticking to stock headlights. Reason I prefer the C6; round tail lights, round analog gauges, old tech headlights. As mentioned "appropriate" styling to this era of Vette. Even prefer the clean look of the original 2005 five-spoke rims.
I personally cringe when I see the cheap looking aftermarket Chinese JC Whitney parts on an otherwise classic looking Corvette in lieu of original OEM GM parts. Don't hate, just my preference.
That said, I see the OEM headlights for sale on Craigslist all the time. One would be smart to pick those up and store away for later down the road when people get over this Chinese part fad and want to restore back to factory fresh. Seen this play out many times in the car world
You guys drive your Corvette at night when all the bugs are out.......
sometimes. When i do it's nice to know i don't have 90s headlights anymore. **** was the worst. Can't fathom how people find that factory nonsense acceptable.

I installed LED bulbs and have no issues at night.
IMHO, I think the C7/C8 lights don't fit the flow of the C6...body is curvey and the lights are straight edge.
Nothing says white boomer like "ricer" and "cheap Chinese parts"... "Ricer" was a derogatory term I think I last heard in the late '90s and meant adding parts that weren't functional. Considering the Morimoto headlights function better than the OEM headlights, the term obviously doesn't apply.
As far as cheap Chinese parts, the lights appear to be as well made as the OEM units.
The lenses are definitely higher quality than OEM units, and the light output is better. So...I'll take my higher-quality, better functioning lights over OEM.
I find this thread to resemble so many others on this topic of headlights. Seems as though the oem lights get bashed by some and loved by others.
So we all have opinions and I am a hater of all the various headlight options out there except oem. Reason being not a fan of the C7 or C8 and I don’t want my car to even remotely resemble them.
I am a believer that it is your car and your money so customize however you like. If you like it that is all that matters.

Oh heck yeah! Some nights in the Hocking Hills area in Ohio, around dusk I can hear the bugs hitting my Corvette. Sounds like rain. I know that I'm gonna spend some quality time getting the front end of my car clean again, and it's all worth it because the curves are sooooo good.
I think the factory headlamps are ugly, an opinion I've already offered, but I don't find them inadequate. And in the genuine darkness of a place like Hocking Hills, if you aren't using your brights as much as possible, you're doing it wrong.
I drive mine at night all the time, I leave my brothers house at 10pm and make the hour drive home. On that hour ride I have 9,578 dead bugs on the front of the car and just soak it in spray way, Let it sit for awhile and then wipe the bugs off with a microfiber towel and then throw it in the garbage lol. I have factory headlights with LED highbeams and LED fogs and the lights are damn near just as good as my new pickup with factory LED lighting. On my white car I am NOT a fan of the black lights so If I were to buy aftermarket they would have to be opened up and the buckets paint matched to the car. To each their own!!
