WTF? I thought GM was gonna DROP THE WEIGHT on the vette instead they decided to INCREASE the weight of the car???? WTF IS THAT?!?!? I though there was to be expected at least 100lbs weight savings......thatnk you GM :troll 's
What are you talking about increase in weight? Its estimated weight is 2,345. That is 1 lb. less than the base C5. And the weight isn't final, either. Neither is the HP for that matter. Article says ESTIMATED HP is 400.

Ever see those Chevron toy cars with the eyes, mouth, and nose. Seems like GM decided to make a full size version. :lolg: The kids will think it cool.
Maybe new technology is there, but packaging for sure is not. Granted, the look may grow on me over time as I get used to it. It shouldn't have to grow on you though. Should just hit you as awesome from the get go.
Good news is that the look of the C5 has not been downgraded. To think this look has been so top secret. This car needs lots of appearance mods.
I say it's time to start planning on the C7. How about some consumer input GM?

Pics are alright, but I just gotta see it in person. I'm withholding judgment until then...

Peter P,

I agree with you. The cars that are really great looking don't have to grow on you........they just look awesome from the get go. The only things I didn't like about the C5 when I first saw it were the wheels and the seats. The wheel issue was very easy to take care of(just get new wheels) and I've grown to live with the seats over the years although I still don't really care for them. With the C6, however, there is no instant attraction to the car inside or out. It doesn't have drop dead gorgeous looks outside and the interior is far from the upgrade I was expecting. Overall, this is a huge letdown for me as I have been a die-hard Corvette fanatic for over 14 years now. I was fully prepared to sell my C5 and buy a new C6, but now I'll either keep my C5(which just got a lot better looking) or trade it for something with an attractive exterior design.

C5 4 ME...If you look closely at the great 'interior' photo on page 62 of the latest (February) issue of MOTOR TREND magazine (likely the "Cashmere" color upholstery), you can see that there is a neat "hold on!" vertical grab-handle for the passenger. Looks very functional.
And the C6 doors have 'side pockets' too. :steering:

I don't know why this thread was dragged back up, because it was on page three+. I took the pictures off of my photohost, knowing that there are better pictures out there. These are the relatively low quality Auto World shots, and you can find the pictures on a mirror a little ways down on the first page.
