[ZR1] Drag radials for ZR1?
#21
If you let the ZR1 hop for a couple seconds you will see that our axels are balanced and the hop goes away pretty quick.....and unlike the Z06 the rear doesn't grenade either with the hop.
And don't forget you are running aftermarket wheels with nitto invos too. IMHO its an inferior tire to the factory tires.

I have a ZR1 with the smaller blower pulley. We had to raise the pressure setting. of the psi of the supercharger(14lbs) and put a HP tune in it. Now making 616hp to rear wheels (up from about 530hp). I just bought a pair of ccw 19" wheels (Corsairs, I believe). I plan on putting the Nitto NT05R 345 30 with a dia. of 27.36 (the factory michilin run flats are 335 25 x 20" and have a dia. of 26.61) Is this too much tire for the car with this HP? I tried some other 20" nittos that were over 28 and a halve inches tall. The car did not like that. It shut off my traction control and even my abs brakes and told me I had a suspension problem, and to see my dealer. As soon as I took them off it all went back to normal. I think the sizes are closer now, do you think this will still happen? Do you think my gear will be too tall, even with this hp? I would like to think I could run in the Ten's? Would I be better off with Mickey Thompsons? (18") Thanks for responding, If, you'd like to call my cell is 714 271 1593 Mike Thermos

Depends on how good your track prep is where you race.....I run at MIR where its perfect so I went with a 18x12 with 315 MT's so that I could get a shorter tire for better gearing purposes. I can tell you with good prep the 315 will be all the tire you need. I bog at 4500 RPM launches with them.
Then again HP tuners would be able to fix that with a couple hundred extra rpms added to the rev limiter.

Melting Slicks
Normally this is the way to go but with the stock tires/power you guys are crossing the traps at the top of 3rd. If you go too short of a tire you will be in the bottom of 4th and the extra shift would negate any speed picked up from the gearing benefit.

When it was stock it hit the rev limiter right at the lights..... I'm thinking I might be, with the extra power (616 rwhp) I might grab 4th somewhat before the lights. how tall are the 18" 345? mike thermos
