Powerlabs, always with the answers...next he's going to tell me that me drinking grain alcohol is bad for me!

But, I really shouldn't run alcohol, as a substitue for my methonal tune, correct? I just want to be safe since I am pushing everything as is with this ECS kit.

I don't know how your car was tuned, so I will go with "no". If it relies on the Methanol for fuelling and relies on it a lot it will be unsafe on Ethanol unless retuned for it.

Unless its on the very bleeding edge of tune you should not see the difference between methanol and ethanol... It really depends on how much fueling is provided by alky kit and or is it a safety net? Before you quantify or answer that, everything else is speculation.

according to ECS it is only for cooling.

But, maybe I should just hand over the $55 for the VP Racing, and be better safe than sorry.

I mean I'm not exactly going through it like crazy since it's a summer only car

If the car is tuned for straight meth, ECS will tell you to run 100% methanol. In a pinch you might get by with alcohol or boost juice but it wouldn't be worth the risk for me.

After all I typed about various stoich balances and the differences of various types of alcohols, I honestly thought I answered this question.

If it's tuned for Meth, run straight meth.

Gotta get that post count up somehow to attempt to legitimize a post making a FS offering that seems too good to be true...
