[QUOTE=nelsond003;1572877735]it says the two versions 550 and 599 "FLYWHEEL" horsepower?
thats kinda low compared to other supercharger/blowers that give that much at the rear wheel??[/QUOTE
Maybe, but different customers do not always want the highest hp numbers to be the sole object in mind when supercharing. As you know, there is great variability in a customers request for their car and a shops ability to accomodate those needs and variations as opposed to a one shoe fits all type install, speaks to the ability of a well-rounded shop.
From a customers perspective- having a new LS3 with a very significant hp increase over stock; not having to change the hood and try to match color as we would with other roots type blowers; not having the very loud typical whine as centrifigal type units; not having to get a different or a stiff clutch and therefore driveability is a huge issue for lot of us; cost of associated parts (clutch, hood, brakes, tiresetc.), if we wanted other roots type S/C or higher hp system,[although 540 to the wheels with the Edelbrock unit is pushing it on stock brakes-tires] ; a system specifically integrated and designed for the LS3; and hugely important-having a power train warranty; using the car as a weekend driver; reliability on a stock motor; a company that has been around since muscle car days and is reputable; all of this militates in favor of the system being just right for some of us. Even for those wanting more, there is the ability to buy the competetion unit with a higher horsepower as they are advertising. Unit 1592.
We look forward to this with a smile on our face and lots of anticipated fun, fun!

I think I heard Edelbrock say on one of the videos "599 hp at 5lbs of boost", but not 100% sure.
That would support my theory. I think the base Magnuson kits are around 6 psi, so that is plausible. I was told by a VERY reputable LSx tuner that this blower is going to have a lot of potential based on a number of design features.
My plan would be to add the blower, some headers, a cam and maybe some meth. Crank the boost up and produce some damn good torque with strong hp to back it up. The "tuner" kit might be the way to go for those who don't plan to keep the rest of the motor stock.
I gotta say I think Edelbrock did a bang up job engineering this piece. I just came out of a 2005 LS2 GTO with a MP112 Maggie and that car put out 490 at the rear wheels with stock engine internals, LT's, and a CAI. It was an awesome kit and car and I won't knock Magnacharger at all for their product as it was top notch.
That said, the Edelbrock in the next step in the evolution of roots blowers in my opinion. The fact that it fits under the stock vette hood, comes with custom engine covers, looks factory, and is warranteed is definitely an improvement. Adding LT's and a good dyno tune would put the LS3 vette's in the 530+ rwhp range which is awesome for a street machine and it will still get in the high 20's gas mileage wise.
I'm digging it. It seems very well designed and manufactured. I think they should have adopted the boost-a-pump route for the level two rather than a new pump. Other than that, I can see a pullied down level 1 kit with BAP and LT's making some good HP. My only question is how much?
I also wonder why they went the route of the in-tank fuel pump for the higher HP? It seems there is a lot of experience and reliability with the BAP for that small boost in HP.

Just an FYI- the drivetrain warranty they are offering with the S/C was posted on their website today. Although it is limited to $8,000, it covers a lot of engine and drive train components up to 100K miles. This is really great to have this available when going FI to a new car. Can't wait
