Edelbrock is advertising flywheel horsepower numbers for the two kits on a bone stock motor. I think 12% loss is about right for a 6-speed manual. Dunno about A6 cars though.
Yea, I know my 6spd car put down 395whp SAE and 404whp STD, which puts drivetrain loss on my 436hp ls3 around 9%. Just curious if they use this number, 12%, or 15%.
WHP could range from 545whp to 509whp on the 599 kit and 500whp to 467whp on the 549 kit.
I'm not sure I'd want to mess w/ the fuel pump, so if a 549 kit was putting down what my car could make w/ a tune, cam and headers, I might be tempted to just go that route instead.
Florida to California and back is a bit too far! I normally do all of my own work. I'll be doing the install in my garage and will do my own calibration work via HP Tuners. The Edelbrock handheld tuner that comes with the kit is for 100% stock cars only and will come up short for my other mods (LG G6XE cam, ported TB and Kooks Headers)
Are you using the 52lb/hr fuel injectors that come with the kit? Will they be enough with the cam and headers?

I am thinking that Edelbrock's numbers were achieved on 91 octane gas with stock exhaust manifolds and a conservative tune for CARB compliance. This kit should do significantly better than their numbers with 93 octane, headers, a CAI, and a decent dyno tune.
I had an MP112 on an LS2 GTO and was getting close to 500rwhp with LT's and a CAI while the engine was heat soaked. The Edelbrock TVS should run cooler and then add in headers, CAI, and a decent dyno tune and I'll bet we will be seeing 530rwhp at a conservative boost level on an LS3.

Edelbrock has added the 6.3 L Corvette LS3 SC install instructions to their web site. For those interested in taking a look at the installation process for this new product.
Seems like this system is very competitively priced, conservatively tuned, and has an optional warranty that is better than the standard Maggie warranty. Plus stock hood. It will be very interesting to see installation and operation experiences. They have certainly positioned themselves to be a market winner.
I may have missed it, but what was the price on the 549hp kit?

What is the reason it won't fit an LS2? My guess is since the LS3 and LS2 intake manifolds are not interchangeable, it won't fit. But...if you put the L92 heads on it, it should fit, right?
I like this set up. My head/Cam/Header/Intake/Catback mods costs as much but it does not make the power this does. And this has stock manners until the boost kicks in. Tough product to beat for the money.
I will be following how this product works out for others.
Are there any vendors in the Chicago area that are certified by Edelbrock to sell and install these?
I talked with Dan Bills at FLP in Naperville and they are definitely doing it - worth a call if you're interested, he knows vettes. Myself, I have to wait for the LS2 version

Funny you should bring them up they are the ones who installed my Kooks and tuned the car.
Btw they did a good job nothing scratched during install no issues in a year and a half car runs great.
