Can someone please chime in here. I have heard all the benefits of meth.....I have a Maggie 122 package installed by Lingenfelter.
I have also heard mix theories of the rotors being damaged, to "should be fine". Is anyone out there running meth through their maggie....I look forward to hearing some facts.
I have a mp112 for almost 5 years now{first one ever installed by Magnuson on an A6},and have had meth injection for about 2.5 years on it.{Snow kit with a 50-50 mix}
It's been perfect and rotors are clean as a whistle!!!
50/50 may cause an issue IF the methanol/water combo isn't completely evaporated. Just tune it for 100% so you never have to worry. Of course, kind of hard to argue with 1bdasvt's results...

I think this is a very extreme case(with pics), but still good reading.
You're putting a band-aid on it for the possibility of more power. Just put a TVS on it and be done with it. Best part is you can sell the maggie to recoup some funds.

I spoke with a Magnuson engineer sometime ago about this issue as well. The coating is what Eaton calls a APC coating otherwise known as a "abradable powder coating". The exact compound of the coating is some company secret as he wouldn't tell me what it was he did tell me that it was a patented process. What he told me was that their rotors are a very tight and precise fit within the case and the coating is sacraficial as it wears into the case. So its not recommended to spray anything before the rotors as it may damage the coating. Any damage caused by methanol or water injection is NOT covered under Magnusons warranty.
Some say its perfectly ok to spray into the. Eaton says no, seeing how they designed these things I think I am going to go with what they say. I don't want to damage an expensive peice of equipement for a few more Hp.
From: Greater Detroit Metro MI, when I'm not travelling.
