I had the choice of driving it or taking it apart and well.... guess which won! I do want to fix the bloody thing because it's embarrassing to use it!! I really do not see anyway of doing it right short of taking off the front end.... something I haven't done before and it makes real nervous looking at! There is a bolt on the bracket that once taken off that I see no mortal way of refastening it.... without the front end off! I'll probably wait for the weather to get bad and the car is put up for the winter.... it won't matter how long it take me then.....
So I dicked around with mine and thought it was sounding OK but when I got it all back together it sounds muted again. Must be leaning against something. I can barely hear it. I said F*** it and got this: http://www.harborfreight.com/three-t...sor-94862.html Haven't put it in yet.
I "think" the main problem is that there is not a lot or room in there after the blower install and the horn and/or bracket is resting against something which is keeping it from resonating.
My horn is fixed! It is NOT a ground. It is the thickness of the horn bracket that was supplied by Edelbrock.
We removed the horns from the new bracket. We left the new bracket in place. We got a nut for the bolt on the old OEM bracket. We mounted the old OEM bracket on to the rear horn hole of the new Edelbrock bracket. The horns are attached to the old OEM bracket. We hooked up the electrical connection and I GOTZ HORNZ!
All of the work was accomplished by removing the access panel in the right front wheel. We also had to remove all of the lower bolts to get a hand in to the horn area to get both horns off of the new Edelbrock bracket. It was super tight on one horn. Buttoned all of the stuff back up and it was good to honk!
You stated it was the bracket's thickness...did you try the suggestion given back on 12/17 to clean the area (get a good ground) and it did not work?
Take the horn off of the bracket completely. Apply 12vdc to the horn you are holding in your hand. It blows very loudly. It does not need a ground to work at all. That says that the "ground" is not the issue.
We have hooked the old bracket to the new bracket to hold the horns. We have not cleaned anything off of the new bracket. We have simply put the horns on a lighter bracket. They work. I took pictures but haven't looked at them yet. I'll add them if they show how I hooked it up.

Elmer; I too have this problem. I would appreciate any pictures you care to post. Thanks
The picture I posted was the best shot of the lot. It was dark in there and hard to get focused. My picture shows the horns on the old OEM bracket. The "V" of the bracket is pointed up. The bolt at the apex of the "V" in going into the rear hole of the E-Force black bracket. We put a nut on the end of the OEM bolt to secure it to the black E-Force bracket. Snapped on the electrical connection and honked merrily along the way home!

Let us know when you guys solve this issue. We have not had the horn problem with the A&A Vortech, ECS Paxton or Procharger kits, only with the Edelbrock kits, go figure. But all of those kits relocate the horns.
Without fail, the Edelbrock cars sound like a sick duck. We tried a few different configurations but it still sounds the same. With the nose off - sounds great. Nose on, still OK - not great but OK. Close up the panels and it sounds like it has water in the horns. As has been stated, it is NOT a ground issue, but a frequency/vibration issue. Like I said, if anyone solves this, please let us know.

Just read you post Elmer. Let us know the gauge and type of material so we can start using that with our Edelbrock installs.
