I did a similiar fix to the two installs I've done. I also re-used the stock v-bracket. In my case I drilled the center v-bracket hole larger and mounted it sandwiched between the frame and the radiator cradle using the front cradle bolt. I had to bend the v-bracket slightly upward to make clearance for the rear horn (to clear the brake duct) but it works as Elmer described.
Just read you post Elmer. Let us know the gauge and type of material so we can start using that with our Edelbrock installs.
Thanks
Stephen
It is the stock OEM horn bracket. I just attached the horns to the OEM bracket and then I attached the OEM bracket to the rear hole of the E-Force bracket. In other words, don't attach the horns directly to the E-Force bracket, use the OEM bracket to mount the horns. Look at the picture. It shows the horns attached to the OEM bracket, with the OEM bracket attached to the E-Force bracket.

Perfect! ...and it don't go "meep-meep" any more, huh?

Yep....this is someone else's photo though. In the two I've done I sandwiched that bracket higher up using the front radiator cradle bolt. Tucks the horns up completely out of the way.
