A friend has a GS with the dry sump LS3(436 horsepower). He installed a Maggie TVS2300, cam and headers, 7.5 psi boost, tuned for 91 octane usin ghis stock heads.. He has 603 rear wheel horsepower. That's around 685 HP at the crank. But he had to purchase a high rise hood to clear the blower; that was another $3,000 including prep & paint.

If I were to install one of the new E-Force superchargers on my Z06, I wouldn't have to purchase an aftermarket hood(I would spend some of that money on a larger DeWitts radiator). I would expect the blower alone(no need for a cam or headers) to hit at least 670 HP at the crank. Install a ZR1 cam and longtubes and I would expect 730+ horsepower at the crank.

As for 700rwhp with heads/cam/headers/etc. Aggressive cams are making ~550rwhp and with heads 570-580 is somewhat common. 600rwhp has been done with some bigger cams and higher compression. A base A&A si-trim kit on a bone stock car can do 630-640rwhp. No big cam driveability issues or anything.

The ZR1 cam is not an upgrade over your stock Z06 cam. You don't have to spend $3K on a hood. I have $1300 tied up in mine.

Who did you talk to in Denver? (I would contact ECS or A&A) for one of their kits and have it dropped shipped and installed by a shop here although there are several shops in Denver I would avoid.. PM me once you decide on a setup and I will tell you who I would recommend..

600RWHP is ~700 crank, so it is possible yes. I have a buddy that made 600RWHP (With 15% drivetrain loss on a manual you are talking ~690 crank) without headers, just heads, intake, and a cam.

I have a Automatic LS2 and went to ECS with their SC600 kit, headers, and methanol and produced 609RWHP / 579 RWTQ. They have many Z06s out there with over 700RWHP easily, which is significantly more powerful than a ZR1. I vote keep the car, and contact ECS, he won't regret it.

So your Z06 buddy picked up 170 whp from heads and cam?

It may not of been exactly 600, but I know it's 580 or so from a NA mods minus headers. I may of jumped the gun on that without knowing his set up, but I do know he does not have headers (Which was shocking to me). I'm guessing it's a pretty big cam. I second guessed my post after posting it because I have not seen his dyno sheet, or know for a fact but it's what I was told by him.

Tell that to the Lingefelter's 660 Package with a 3year/36k warranty. Add a Fast Intake to it.. and your about at 700 crank HP.

Just look at WeaponGradeTorque's set up... its driving daily at well over 700 crank HP.

Anyway the post was about the best supercharger kit.. which you cant go wrong with A&A or ECS.

Especially at high elevation. I wouldn't even think of staying n/a if you want to make good power. The blower can make up for the lack of air.

ZR1 would be a great choice but avoiding an angry wife definitely needs to happen, lol. If you can't find a shop in CO that you're comfortable with we're located in the Kansas City area. We're very familiar with building blower, cam, exhaust C6Z's and can get your dad set up with a proven package that will make more power than a ZR1 while maintaining stock driveability. If interested feel free to give me a call at the shop 913-788-3900.

I was told by a shop here in denver that if I wanted to go FI i would have to change the pistons and rebuild the tranny... Can anyone tell me what I am going to be looking at for blower? you guys keep throwin A&A and such... what about the lingenfelter package? is it good stuff? I dont have all these options for my srt8 there is only one blower and it sucks!

If you keep the boost conservative at the level the kit ships with you do not need to address the pistons and rods. If he is uncomfortable installing a supercharger on the car then I would look for another shop.
