Maybe we could post in the zo6 section, and just say how many NA modded cars have had failure. It would be interesting because I think we get a bad rap on our SC cars because a lot of people probably run them pretty hard. ?????
Me too! The Centri on the 427 is a bad azz package. The 427 loves the boost. Then you have a lightweight frame. Rolling through the gears is no effort triple digits in seconds. Stock ZR1? Your smoked!
Power to weight says it all!
then you need to get R888s GODS OWN TIRES :P I cut a 1.71 60' with a full boltons car on them this last summer and they hold in the corners better then any other "streatable" tire Ive ever been on. i stratable because they are infact 100 tw road racing tires :P if you want to try b4 you buy I would be more then happy to let you take aride with me some time I'm in CT now
if I had to do it all over, it would be a LSX454-R with a tvs2300 from the get go.. maybe this will be my next years setup.. Talk about insane torque!
I can't use my little 370c.i. 9.25:1 torque with sh*tty heads without TC/BC... I believe this would be a huge mistake without Traction Control/Boost Control which isn't cheap with a PD setup, and then add heat soak to boot... Wait until you go F1 and set it up for your driving style, you will NEVER consider a less efficient PD setup again. Now if you were just doing a stock engine and only wanted 550ish rw, and could care less about heat soak, then a PD is the ticket. Short of that they are just not a smart choice given the superior aspects of the Centrifugal systems. Centri's win period, now Centri vs. TT, the TT's win if availability (none offered in 2005 when I started my C6 venture) and cost are no issue...

I know several tvs2300 owners, they all say that this heat soak claim is a just a bunch of crap in real world driving. Can it happen, yes, but you have to try pretty hard to get it.. Only people without PD blowers make this claim.. Even most members here with tvs2300's say the samething my buds say.. I just get sick of everyone saying that crap with no real world experience to abck it up..
I do not see what this poll is trying to show.. 90% of FI applications are centri vs PD. even fewer are TT. Also, you do not know if the failures can from some guy putting 10lbs on a stock LS7 or 18lbs on a stock ls3..
TA have you seen the data logs in Texas after back to back road/track pulls of these setups? Either your friends are not logging their IAT's after the compression or they aren't at all... I have seen them, and even with larger and larger heat exchangers they have issues, period... a guy we know at the mile with an all out build had some crazy logs to share right after it blew to pieces... now run methanol, that they claim you shouldn't, and that's a different story, but those that have claim to have rotor finish issues... however believe the hype if you will...
2.5 years and 7k miles with a Vortech and no problems so far. I've hit rev limiter briefly several times, and even ran it lean due to low fuel pressure. This was a result of a poor ground connection on the BAP. If i were to blow the engine at this point, I wouldnt fault the blower, plus im running a 3.6" pulley and pushing the limit on a motor with pretty high compression (ls2). Would do it again in a heartbeat.

You would need two tvs2300's to support an efficient 454ci Lsx engine. They are fine for a 6L or 6.2L, but don't have the output to support 400+ cubes.
If you are looking for a flatter torque curve, TT's are the way to go, but most will concur that you can't put that kind of power to the ground down low on the street and go with boost by gear, which defeats the purpose of having monster low end torque to begin with.
I still think people are best served with a high boost centri on stock cubes unless they are making gobbs of power like RC or AtomicFusion, but to each their own.
