This is my personal car, to go out and have one of these built is approx 150K and above if you want it turn key. I did not spend that because I built the entire car almost.
So if Randy from DRM says hey we can build you a car for 150k me coming in and saying Vette Tax, or that is a rip off , I built mine for 70k s comparing Apples to Oranges. He is offering the car turn key, not in a box for me to build.
This whole thread is the same thing, originally it was just about the price going up, but several on here made it more then what it was because they compared the whipple to the E force saying what a better deal the whipple was. Well they didn't add in the hood or the fuel pump to the Whipple which now make the new price of the E-Force still way cheaper. That is the only point here, I think it would help if everyone actually read the posts before replying to them and then they would realize this, I have the habbit of doing this also, but that is all this post was about.
Customers aren't generally pleased when prices rise dramatically. The only upside I see to the price increase is for those of us who ordered before the cutoff. We'll fair better selling our kits on the used market down the road. See, the glass is half full.

I was lucky enough to purchase mine just before the price increase but I'm not selling for a profit, I'm having it installed this Spring by ECS as soon as I get it out of Winter storage (which might be sooner than usual).

Good luck with that. I'm beginning to doubt winter will end.
I would like to do a little mod and head to ECS but with no heat in the garage and colder then average weather its going to wait.
A turbo system is even better, but more money.
Justin
I was enjoying and agreeing with your writing style, until this sentence.
I usually ignore the 'power adder a' is better than 'power adder b' as bias and short-sightedness, but it was surprising coming from a vendor such as you.
Turbo's are 'better' in some situations, but some would argue a root or centri blower would be 'better' in others.
All power adders have their advantages and disadvantages with their unique characteristics.

Keep up the good work none-the-less.
Agreed, I didn't say enough but could write a book on the subject so I didn't go into it. It depends on the car and what someone wants to spend. Let me change my statement, to do it right, a turbo will cost more money.
Price a turbo kit and look into the difficulty of the install. You couldn't buy the turbo kit for the cost of an ECS or A&A centri kit installed.
Taking this thread even further off topic but UPP is attempting to do that right now. C6 TT kit for $5500. It just came out and has yet to be proven yet though. It's more of a home brew kit that is no where near the quality level of the E-Force but it is a TT kit for the vette at a centri kit price.
I'm no mod but I think this thread has run it's course. Yes the E-Force is a good system. Yes it sucks that the price went up significantly. Done and done.
