Coach G,

Very nice car and performance results. Could you share your specific modifications that got you to this power level.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Dale, I am sure I will leave something out as I always do, but here ya go:

2008 LS3 (436 hp) A6 Bone stock 40K+ miles Triple Black Vert +

E-force 1591 kit + 3" pulley;
Ported and polished stock heads ;
Custom Blower cam (specs to remain undisclosed as per vendor);
American Racing (powder coated Black)Long Tube Headers with high flow cats and stock NPPs (Mild to Wild switch for those special moments);
160* Thermostat;
Kenne Bell Boosta-pump;
Fast 65lb. injectors;
LS9 lifters (GM);
Dual valve springs (Lunati);
Hardened push rods, new rocker with trunion upgrade (Comp Cams).
9.6 psi boost; and
11.4 AFR = 650 rwhp and 625 ft.lbs. torque.

Has averaged 19.1 mpg for last 1800 miles since build and tune.
Tranny shifts smoother than before the build and tune (Knock on wood).

Engine and transmision tuned by by Brian Reckert (Reckert Performance Tuning, Cedar Park, Texas) a forum vendor.

Hope this helps, I love my car!

For instance just buying the LS9 engine, you will still need the front drive kit, intercooler pump, hoses, intercooler, and if you are installing this into a kit car a complete harness and PCM. It can be made to work with the existing controllers in your car, its been done. Plus I can tell you that the E Force offers better drivability than the alternative same type of blowers because it has long runners. But having them also means that the power levels may not be as high as the Maggies or the Whipples with their open plenums.

Case in point my personal TVS2300 on top of a forged 9:1 LS7 with all the best parts money can buy has some tuning issues which won't be resolved by tuning. The air distribution in the blower sucks when its over driven by 120% coupled with a cam with a over 12 degs of overlap. Don't get me wrong it plain rips, making 650 ft lbs at 3000 RPM, it may not make the peak high numbers as I could have with perhaps a YSI Vortec or twin turbos, as I wasn't looking for that. But it makes just shy of 730 on a cool day which isn't bad either and its fun to drive. On average its over 700, at that level I am happy I'm not out to break any records. For those of you that know me, you know I have the capability of making much more power should I want to. For those guys that feels about the same as I this E Force crate engine isn't a bad way to go.

I forgot to mention, recently I had to dyno test a LPE car with a LS3 and the E Force. It make 595 to the wheels through the stock exhaust! Had this car had a good set of headers and an aftermarket CAT back, it could have easily made 600+. The mods included their GT9 camshaft and their ported heads.
Guys this man knows what his is talking about! He takes second to no one when it comes to working on Corvettes!

Default New questions to get back on topic

1, With a E Force how are you checking fuel pressure? It does not appear to have a Schrader valve port to connect to like on many older GM fuel rails. Do you tap into the quick release fitting ?

2, For those using a Z06 fuel pump, how has it performed for you over time? I have heard about some that have had issues after the install and then there are some that seem to work well with no issues.

Thanks,

Thank

There is also some evidence out there that supports the thought that the last few cylinders in the food chain may not be getting full pressure when you turn up the power. You might want to consider feeding fuel to the rear of both rails using AN fittings and braided fuel line.

I can tell you from my experience.. lots of guys running those numbers your touting w/ stock lower ends had a bad endings.. Don't know too many guys with blown lower ends with the Eforce kits.. I've owned both kinds.. I prefer PD.. Have run 1000 hp with the big KB LC..
this is about preference.. IMHO

Looking sharp, I have an EFORCE as well but a 549hp version and I'm getting 520 rwhp. I'm surprised your only getting 525 rwhp

Anyone know of a reputable garage that would install an E-Force unit in a 05 LS2 residing in the state of CT?

Great looking car. Glad it is all working and running well for you. Did you also use the Edelbrock upgraded fuel pump, that I believe is the stock Z06 fuel pump?

Thanks for the fitting info. What kind of fuel pressure gauge are you using?

Yes I installed the Z06 fuel pump.. its a PIA.. a KB BAP would of worked just as well. I've used those BAP's on a few other blower I've had and they work fine.. the fuel pump is just a cleaner install..
Thanks!!
